J'imprimais moi-même tous les documents techniques avant de troquer le papier pour les documents dématérialisés, ce qui ne présente que des avantages: moins de papier et de dépense d'impression, facilité de classement, de recherche et de navigation, et enfin on dispose de la dernière version … sur tous les ordi-tablettes, et depuis partout grâce à un Cloud personnel (par exemple Google Drive ou iCloud gratuit ou autre). J'avais besoin présenter les informations officielles ou non, sous une forme qui accélère l'apprentissage, qui facilite une consultation ultérieure, et permette des ajouts au fil du temps Cet aide-mémoire comprend dont : Un retranscripition du court mode d’emploi de Clavia en français (24 pages), avec une amélioration de la présentation et de la rédaction. En effet, le mode d’emploi est mal rédigé et parfois incompréhensible (Je parle de la rédaction originale en anglais, pas seulement la traduction). L’ajout d’un chapitre « Démarrage » de façon à faciliter la prise en main (ce qui n’est pas si simple), en remaniant totalement la partie du manuel essentielle à l’utilisation de base. Une traduction du manuel du logiciel « Nord Sound Manger » (Version 6.7, 2015), ainsi que de celui du « Nord Sample Editor » (version 2, 2010). La liste des instruments est fournie pour la configuration d’usine, et pour la « Nord Sound Library » (avec la taille en mémoire de chaque instrument qui ne figure pas dans la doc Clavia). On y a ajouté des informations intéressantes du site internet sur la Piano et la Sample Library. Les sons de ce clavier sont basés sur la lecture d’échantillons, que ce soit ceux de piano ou de synthé. La mémoire Piano du Nord Electro 5, doublée par rapport au NE 4, permet de mieux profiter de la vaste collection de « Nord Piano Library » de grande qualité (en téléchargement gratuit). Par contre, la section « ORGAN » n’est pas basée sur la lecture d’échantillon mais sur synthèse du son par une une émulation des orgues Drawbar et Pipe. Nord Electro 5 – Aide-mémoire d’utilisation Décembre 2019 6/270 Démarrage - 1.3 Connexions En l’absence de port USB DEVICE et de wifi, il faut un ordinateur pour changer les banques de sons en mémoire. Comme ce n’est pas une station de travail (Workstation) il ne faut y chercher ni séquenceur ni enregistrement audio, ni lecture audio ou MIDI. Le toucher Waterfall du Nord Electro 5D (61 ou 73 touches) est agréable mais sans Aftertouch, souple mais offrant une bonne résistance sous les doigts. Je n’ai pas essayé le claivier dur (Hammer Action Portable) du Nord Electro 5 HP 73-key (6 octaves, E-E). Le clavier dispose de 6 points de « Split ». Les Drawbars sont des tirettes physiques sur le modèle 5D, tandis que ce sont des boutons avec échelles de LED sur le HP73. Bien que les tirettes physiques soient plus familières aux organistes, rappelons que les tirettes « virtuelles » font le job (moins instantément certes), mais qu’elles sont toujours correctement réglées lors du rappel d’un Preset, contrairement aux tirettes classiques (comme les potentiomètres sans fin à LED de certains anciens modèles Nord). Enfin, le NE5 dispose de 3 sections sonores (Organ, Piano, Sample Synth), dont 2 seulement peuvent être actifs en même temps (3 en cas de Split). On notera que les « Instruments échantillonés » (Piano et Synt) sont joués en playback sans traitement de synthèse, contrairement au Nord Stage 2Ex dont la section « SYNTH » peut utiliser les Samples, avec enveloppe, Filter, LFO etc…. (Dixit le site Nord: Extended Subtractive with FM, Wavetable and Sample Player).

The pieces of music were designed to feature the organ as the lead instrument in order to highlight various playing techniques that are specific to the Hammond Organ within these genres. In addition to my own music and an explanation and analysis of my work, the writing will provide a historical overview of organists I have chosen to highlight as influences to provide a framework for each piece of music. In order to aid this discussion of what has been an under-theorized instrument and performance tradition, I have sought out active contemporary organists to discuss their creative practices on the Hammond, as well as their insight into the notable organists of the past. Finally, of particular interest to me in this thesis is the emphasis on the Hammond Organ as an electric instrument, and the unique musical textures that are possible through the exploitation of the multiple controls that are integral to the instrument's construction. So what do you actually need the ARP-2600 for … ? Single-VCO version of the Odyssey As a cut-down version of ARP’s successful Odyssey, the Axxe hit the market in 1975. It only features one VCO (admittedly a very nice one) and has reduced modulation possibilities. Compared to other companies ARPs release of its smallest synthesizer came very early. Moog did bring out the Micromoog at the same time, but that instrument was no success at all. Highly successful cut-down synthesizers were released a couple of years later – like the Prodigy (1979) and the Rogue (1981). Sequentials Pro-One and Oberheims OB-1 were not out yet, but these instruments can hardly be seen as cut-downs. They are single products in every respect. | 1 ARP Axxe – small is beautiful People might tend to look at the Axxe as second-rate. But be careful there: although the features are limited, the sound is truely ARP high quality analog sound! Sonically, the Axxe is actually not too far away from the 2600, Odyssey and Avatar! Power and flexibility may be somewhat greater on the state-of-the-art 2600, but still: the Axxe is a lovely ARP synthesizer in its own.
