An interesting readBy H. J. AcarThis book outlines a few of the earliest "modern" sets of rules. The Lionel Tarr rules also come with some extra commentary and articles. The Tony Bath rules are interesting because they pre-date the copy of his rules from the Featherstone book wargames. The last set is a man-to-man set that I browsed through but have not read yet. What's interesting about those rules is that they feel more like a role playing game than a wargame. Certainly, the example of play reads very much like the example of play in some of the early Dungeons and Dragons game books.
