Bunty Avieson is a journalist, author and academic. She has published three novels, a novella and a travel memoir; been translated into Japanese, German and Thai; and been the recipient of two Ned Kelly Awards for crime writing. In the 1990s she was editorial director of the mass-market women’s maga- zines Woman’s Day and New Idea. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of Media and Communications at the University of Sydney.
