I'm really proud of how the ship has handled boat maintenance this year. We have been able to accomplish a lot. This is a new skill for most of us scouts and we have been able to meet this challenge. We are getting to the end of maintenance and close to actually being able to rig the boats. The way we have been able to work together and complete stuff is amazing. This summer should be a lot of fun. I'm excited to get to sail with all of y'all! - Emma Van Hoose

Skipper’s Corner

It’s a busy time of year for the ship. We are lucky enough to own and have access to 10 vessels. Along with that comes lots of work to get them ready for the season. Sea Scouts in the south have access to their vessels year-round, so they can spread out their maintenance. Our seasonal access to the water dictates our schedule much more. Learning to repair, clean and enhance our vessels will provide you with experience that will serve you for the rest of your life, even if you do not own a boat. Use this time to experience and learn lots of different skills. Also, thanks to the Quarterdeck for their work over the last few months. Keep up the good work. - Skipper Ron
