Welcome to the 5th Annual USO Guam Gala!

We welcome all of you tonight and thank you for your support of USO Guam, and even more importantly, for your support the men and women of the United States military and their families. As you all know, we simply would not have the freedom and prosperity we have today without the dedication of those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces – both past and present.

Your attendance at this gala underscores your support for the brave men and women of the military, and it proves USO Guam is making in- credible strides in reaching out to the local community to bring even more goodness to an extraordinary group of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen. Thanks to all of you, we continue to expand the visibility for everything USO Guam offers the men and women of the U.S. military and their families.

Since opening its doors in May 2006, USO Guam has generated much excitement, enthusiasm, and passion for the USO mission, with much thanks to the USO Guam Advisory Council and our sponsors. Inside the Guam USO, we offer phone calls around the world and free internet service, free snacks and very comfortable TV lounges to allow the troops to relax and unwind while staying connected with their loved ones. Outside the center, we stand ready to send off the warriors deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan and other harsh areas of the world, just as we’re there to welcome them home upon their safe return. The other programs we support – such as the wildly successful Movie Night in the Park – allow us to provide a safe environment for the whole family.

Together, USO Guam and this amazing community will continue to provide the very best programs, services, entertainment and island spirit to the men and women of the U.S. military and their families, until every one comes home.

On behalf of USO Guam and the USO Pacific region, I thank you again for coming tonight.

Thomas . Kolstad Vice President USO Pacific of the southpacific

The 1957 film classic South Pacific Highlighted through laughter and song the melding of Pacific island cultures with American military life during World War II.

The playful musical memorializes the romance of the tropical seas, the respect of elders held so dear in island homes, the treasure of children in island families, and the patriotism of Pacific island people.

Tonight USO invites you to relive the sounds, tastes, and many souvenir memories from throughout the Pacific as we celebrate the men and women who give their very lives for the freedom we all enjoy. of the southpacific CANAPES
