Club Disney at U of I needs your help to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish Foundation

URBANA (Oct. 12) – Disney fans assemble! Club Disney at the U of I needs your help right away decorating and selling cookies! Starting Oct. 19, Club Disney will be hosting a Bake Sale Decorating Party at Gregory Hall 307 in Urbana. The decorated cookies will be sold the following Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 20 and Oct. 21, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at a Club Disney Bake Sale, which will be located on the Main Quad. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a nation wide, non-profit organization that grants “wishes” to children, between the ages of 3 and 17, who have life threating medical conditions. Some of the wishes that children often make are a trip to a Walt Disney Park and Resort such as the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California or the Walt Disney World Resort in Orland, Florida.
Club Disney needs as many volunteers to help decorate cookies and help manage the bake sale. Club Disney’s Vice President of Communications, Briana Rabiola said in a statement: “Bring your imagination to help ‘Disney-fy’ cookies. We have icing and sprinkles and things for all to decorate, but if you’d like to bring anything else you are more than welcome!”
If you can’t make it to next week’s event Bake Sale Decorating Party, there are more events throughout the year. The next event that Club Disney will be hosting is the Third Annual Mickey Coin Challenge on Nov. 16 and Nov. 17. The goal of this event is to fill up a chalk Mickey Mouse head with as many pennies. The proceeds from this event will also be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
