Direct Ferries extends partnership with Avios Ferry comparison site offers customers chance to collect Avios on bookings

(18 January, 2016) Ferry comparison site Direct Ferries has today announced the extension of its partnership with Avios.

Under the new agreement, Direct Ferries customers who are members of the British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus and Meridiana Club frequent flyer programmes, or the Avios Travel Rewards Programme, can now collect Avios when booking travel between more than 160 countries across the globe, earning four Avios for every £1 or €1 spent. Previously travellers were only able to use Avios when booking with Direct Ferries rather than collect them, meaning the new agreement offers greater value for customers when travelling with more than 130 different ferry companies.

In order to begin collecting Avios, customers simply need to book their crossing through directferries.co.uk and add in their British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Meridiana Club or Avios Travel Rewards Programme membership number1.

“The extension of our partnership with Avios underlines our commitment to offering our customers the very best value for their money,” said, Andrew Crowe, Sales and Marketing Director of Direct Ferries.

“What’s more, we are confident that this move will help us meet our business aims, as we look to grow and build upon the most comprehensive portfolio in the ferry transportation sector.”

Katy Dunn, Customer Director at Avios, added: “We continually look to increase the ways customers can collect Avios. Our partnership with Direct Ferries creates real value and utility, as the scale and global reach means that all Avios customers can benefit and be rewarded for doing something they enjoy.”

Avios is a travel reward currency that enables members to collect Avios when booking flights with British Airways, Iberia, Meridiana and partner airlines as well as hotel bookings, package holidays, car rental and on everyday purchases through partners. Avios can be used for travel rewards including towards flights, hotel accommodation, car hire and ferry travel.
