Monterey High School 2021 – LISD Graduation Policy

Graduation Dress Expectations / or dress slacks/dress pants, dress /dress with with tie is the Dress/ expected dress for the graduation ceremony. Expectations Pants must be worn at (no sagging). LISD MUST be followed. Dress (wedges or flat heels), Dress or dress . Shoes NO TENNIS SHOES, FLIP-FLOPS OR ANY TYPE OF SPIKED HEEL. Heels other than wedges or flats will damage the turf and are not allowed. Graduation No jewelry pinned or on graduation or cap. & Gown No décor/designs allowed on . No large or bulky jewelry. Jewelry should complement graduation gown, not take away Accessories from the formal attire. No items worn on cap & gown outside of the district approved stoles. LISD Dress & Grooming Policy MUST be followed. Dress & No facial piercings. Grooming Hair must be clean & well groomed, and must meet LISD hair policy. Tassel is worn on the right (to be moved to left upon principal directive). Other Caps level (flat) on of head.

 Everything must be out of your pockets prior to the ceremony. Please leave phones, keys, wallets, etc. at home or with your family. Bags (with your name attached) will be available to hold any keys or other pocket items during graduation. Personal belongings will be monitored for safety throughout the ceremony. o Again: NO ITEMS ARE ALLOWED ON THE GRADUATE DURING GRADUATION.

The items listed below have been approved by LISD and may be worn in the graduation ceremony. Nothing else can be added to the graduation cap & gown-- no jewelry, pins, or cords of any kind are appropriate with the exception of the following:

 Red Honor Stole Worn by all graduates with a 3.5 or higher GPA (Purchase from main office-Cost TBA)

 Blue NHS Stole Worn by NHS seniors in good standing (Purchase or rent from Mrs. Clements-Cost TBA)

 Red, White & Blue Cords Worn by any graduates joining the military (See Mrs. Holdridge to be added to list)

 Blue & Gold Cords Worn by graduates that participated in the AVID Program

 Blue PLTW Stoles Worn by graduates that participated in the PLTW Program

 Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Cords Worn by graduates earning 24 + hours through SPC or OnRamps Program Note: Any other attire requested to be worn on cap & gown or other clothing not listed must be district level approved.
