Business Professional Dress Code The way you dress can play a big role in your professional career. Part of the culture of a company is the dress code of its employees. Some companies prefer a business casual approach, while other companies require a business professional dress code. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR MEN Men should wear business suits if possible; however, blazers can be worn with dress slacks or nice khaki pants. Wearing a tie is a requirement for men in a business professional dress code. Sweaters worn with a shirt and tie are an option as well. BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE FOR WOMEN Women should wear business suits or skirt-and-blouse combinations. Women adhering to the business professional dress code can wear slacks, shirts and other formal combinations. Women dressing for a business professional dress code should try to be conservative. Revealing clothing should be avoided, and body art should be covered. Jewelry should be conservative and tasteful. COLORS AND FOOTWEAR When choosing color schemes for your business professional wardrobe, it's advisable to stay conservative. Wear "power" colors such as black, navy, dark gray and earth tones. Avoid bright colors that attract attention. Men should wear dark‐colored dress shoes. Women can wear heels or flats. Women should avoid open‐toe shoes and strapless shoes that expose the heel of the foot. GOOD HYGIENE Always practice good hygiene. DRESS CODE Broome High School Students Should Take Pride in Their Image
DRESS CODE Broome High School students should take pride in their image. Students are required to dress and groom themselves in a manner not to disrupt instruction or the orderly operation of the school. Following are the dress code rules for our school. Clothing deemed distracting, revealing, suggestive, or disruptive will not be permitted. Clothing must not be immodest, obscene, profane, lewd, vulgar, indecent or offensive. It cannot reference or depict alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, or other paraphernalia. A student’s hair must not be so inappropriate as to be disruptive at school. Sleeveless attire cannot reveal undergarments. Shirts must cover the width of the shoulder. Tops that are so tight or so low-cut to cause unfavorable distractions may not be worn at school. Cleavage should not be visible at any time. No skin should be showing between a student’s shirt and his/her pants, skirt, or shorts whether sitting, standing or walking. Shirts must not expose a student’s back. Tank tops, halter-tops, strapless shirts, and shirts with spaghetti straps will not be allowed. No transparent or mesh clothing can be worn without an appropriate shirt underneath. Shirts must cover pants even when seated. Heels that are in excess over 2 inches will not be allowed. No headwear will be allowed in the building. This restriction includes: hats, bandanas, do-rags, hair picks, hoods, and large headphones. The first offense will result in the item being confiscated and returned at the end of the day. The second offense will result in confiscation of the item and a disciplinary referral for disruptive behavior. -
Student Dress Code
STUDENT DRESS CODE 1. Clothing and body art are not to be suggestive, indecent, inappropriate or of the type that would cause a disturbance or interfere with the instructional program. Anything that reveals cleavage shall not be worn. 2. Clothing designed for wear inside the home, such as pajamas and loungewear is inappropriate for wear at school. 3. The body and clothing should be clean at all times and should not constitute a health hazard. 4. Hair should be neat, well groomed, not obstruct vision, and be free of picks, combs, rollers and/or any other grooming object. Hats, baseball caps, sports headbands, bandanas, visors or similar headgear may not be worn in the building during regular school hours. Girls may wear hair accessories, not grooming objects. Hoods or hoodies on shirts and sweatshirts must not be worn on the head on school property (including busses) and must be worn with the hood resting on the back in the standard position on the school campus at all times. 5. Underclothing with the exception of the neck/collar of a tshirt, should not be seen. Tshirts of the underwear type are not to be worn as an outside garment, even with another undershirt beneath. 6. Tap shoes, house shoes, cleats, hobnailed boots and bare feet are prohibited. 7. Clothing with advertising, slogans, pictures or symbols that are determined to be inappropriate, vulgar, offensive or obscene is prohibited. 8. Jewelry and other accessories should be carefully selected. Some popular jewelry pieces, such as those with spikes, may violate other codes such as weapon codes. -

Brother Martin High School Dance/Event Dress Code 2019-20 The Administration and/or faculty of Brother Martin will make all final judgements on the appropriateness of questionable attire. The dress code will be strictly enforced, and regrettably if a student or his date does not adhere to these guidelines, he/she will not be admitted. For confirmation on whether a dress/outfit is appropriate, please email a picture of yourself in the dress/outfit to Ms. Kelly Wild [email protected] Assistant Principal for Student Services. All grooming rules as stated in the Brother Martin Student Handbook must be followed. Clothes must be neatly pressed. Thrift shop outfits that draw undue attention to the student, and are not appropriate for the event, are not allowed. All accessories including shirts and cummerbunds must conform to conventional formal dress specifications. Hats, bandanas, or headwear of any kind are not permitted. No one may bring props, knapsacks, or book bags to a dance or event. If anyone, a student, his date, or a girl attending the function leaves a dance, then he/she will not be permitted to return. The consumption of any beverage not supplied at the dance or event is not permitted. And of course there is no alcohol or illegal substances allowed on the premises of any dance or event. (SEE SPECIFIC REGULATIONS LISTED BELOW.) BOYS’ DRESS CODE: Graduation Dress is a white dress shirt, appropriate tie, dark solid colored dress slacks (black, dark gray, or navy), belt, black dress shoes, and black dress socks under your cap and gown. -

Business Casual Attire For All Marketing Courses above MKT 230, All BTE courses BTE 260 and above. The Department of Marketing's objective in establishing a dress code is to enable students to project a professional image while still experiencing the comfort advantages of more casual and relaxed clothing. Not all casual clothing is suitable for the classroom, so these guidelines will help you determine what is appropriate to wear. Clothing that works well for the beach, yard work, dance clubs, exercise sessions, and sports contests are not appropriate for a professional appearance. Below is a general overview of what we mean by “acceptable business casual attire.” Items that are not appropriate for the classroom are listed, too. Neither list is all-inclusive and both are open to change. The lists tell you what is generally acceptable as business casual attire and what is generally not acceptable as business casual attire. No dress code can cover all contingencies so students must apply a certain amount of judgment in their choice of clothing to wear to Department of Marketing classes. If you experience uncertainty about acceptable, professional business casual attire for your class, please ask your professor or stop by the Marketing office (352 COB Building) to discuss this with the department chairperson. Clothing should be pressed and never wrinkled. Torn, dirty, or frayed clothing is unacceptable. All seams must be finished. Any clothing that has words, terms, or pictures that may be offensive and/or create a hostile environment for other students is unacceptable. A general guideline for business casual attire for women includes: • Khaki, corduroy, twill or cotton pants or skirts, neatly pressed; • Sweaters, twinsets, cardigans, polo/knit shirts, tailored blouses; • Solid colors work better than bright patterns. -

EMPLOYEE DRESS CODE POLICY The following are guidelines regarding acceptable business attire for employees of Centenary University. The impression that we, as employees of the University, present to others is as important as serving as role models of professionalism for our students. The University has adopted a business casual dress code Monday through Thursday, and allows jeans to be worn on Friday for Centenary Spirit Day. Employees who prefer to dress in more formal traditional business attire should feel free to do so. Business casual wear encompasses many looks but it really means casual clothing that is appropriate for a professional office environment. It is clothing that allows you to be comfortable at work yet always look neat and professional. It means clothing that is clean, unwrinkled, and not too tight, revealing, or baggy. We ask that you consider each day’s activities when determining what to wear, as there are situations when traditional business attire may be required and is more appropriate. Your supervisor may exercise reasonable discretion to determine appropriateness in employee dress and appearance. Employees who do not meet a professional standard may be sent home to change. This newsletter covers information on our Conference Dress Code and Representative Dance, both of which we like to make certain students hear about as early as possible. AMUN’s Dress Code Like most Model UN Conferences, AMUN has a specific Dress Code for all conference attendees. For your convenience, the full text of this dress code is copied below. This information is also available in our Conference Handbook. Our dress code is meant to be inclusive while encouraging a professional atmosphere for deliberations. If you have any concerns about AMUN’s Dress Code or just need clarification please contact us at [email protected]. The appearance of AMUN participants provides the first impressions of their delegation to other representatives. Attention to proper appearance sets an expectation for professionalism and competence. In order to demonstrate respect to fellow representatives, Secretariat members and distinguished guests of the Conference, AMUN requires conservative Western business attire for all representatives and Secretariat during all formal sessions, including the final sessions on Tuesday. Western business attire is a business jacket or suit, dress slacks or skirt, dress shirt, appropriate hosiery or socks and dress shoes. Attire should follow the rule of being appropriate for visiting an embassy. Conservative accessories such as ties, scarves, and formal jewelry are traditional in business settings. Sweaters or leggings are too casual for Western business attire. -

STUDENT DRESS CODE AND APPEARANCE Policy Code: 4316 The board requests that parents outfit their children in clothing that is conducive to learning. The board prohibits any appearance or clothing that does the following: (1) violates the guidelines in this policy; (2) is substantially disruptive (for information on gang-related attire, see policy 4328, Gang-Related Activity); (3) is provocative or obscene; or (4) endangers the health or safety of the student or others. Student appearance should reflect practices of good hygiene and cleanliness. A. STUDENT DRESS CODE Students are expected to be dressed in accordance with this policy at all times school is in session. The principal or designee shall implement this policy in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate. Good judgment in considering issues such as age, developmental stages, and body type are expected of all students and parents in the selection of school attire and appearance. Each student’s school attire must be neat, clean, properly fitted, age- appropriate, and suitable for the learning environment. Schools may not charge students for wearing clothing approved below. 1. Shirts and Tops a. Shirts and tops must have a collar and be a solid color. b. With the exception of manufacturer’s logos or school-approved logos, shirts and tops may not display any insignias, logos, labels, graphics, embroidery, words, or pictures. c. Shirts and tops must be appropriately sized and long enough to cover the midriff when sitting or standing and must also cover the chest and back so the chest and the back of the body are not exposed. -
