Pomeroy began his career for the partnership of Mi- chael Tabor and Derrick Smith and was trained by Pat- rick Biancone. His first stakes win came in the GIII Jersey Shore Breeders= Cup S. at Monmouth in June, 2004. Following a close second in the GII Amsterdam S., he set a stakes record of 1:20 4/5 in capturing the GI King=s Bishop S., but that proved to be his final appearance for quite some time. Returning the follow- ing spring at Keeneland, he was unplaced in the GIII Shakertown S., then ran third in the GII Churchill Downs H. and fourth in the GI Met Mile. He got back on track with a 6 1/2-length optional claiming win at Monmouth and aired in the GII A.G. Vanderbilt H. over this course last August. Eighth in the GI Vosburgh S. Oct. 1, Pomeroy was pre-entered in the GI Breeders= Cup Sprint, but never made it to the starting gate due to some foot trouble; he was later sold privately and underwent surgery.
