Subject: Formal invitation to participate in Abhiveera

Dear Madam/Sir,

The Organizing Committee of National Law University and Judicial Academy, takes immense pleasure in formally inviting your college for the second edition of our flagship sports fest, ‘Abhiveera’, scheduled to be held from February 28th to March 1st , 2020.

This year, while playing host to law schools and colleges of national repute from across the country, we aim to organize multiple events under several formats over a period of three days. about abhiveera 2.0

The National Law University and Judicial Academy is organizing the 2nd Edition of Abhiveera, between 28th February to 1st March 2020. Abhiveera is the inter-university sports festival organized by NLUJAA, entering in its second edition this year. It is an attempt to provide a platform for the development of healthy relations between the various law schools in India.

Abhiveera incorporates a healthy mix of outdoor and several indoor games. NLUJAA is set to take the inter-university sports by storm with this fest. This fest will be 3-day sporting extravaganza throbbing with activities, pomp and grandeur in the coming spring. ABOUTNLUJAA

Since it's inception in 2011, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam has become a mainstay of pioneering legal education not just in the state of Assam but throughout the cohort of the North-East. It has gone from strength to strength and laid down solid foundation of academic excellence, social justice and round-the-clock focus on co curricular to achieve its ultimate goal of supremacy in each of the tasks undertaken. The students are bestowed with a sense of belonging and an acute sense of punctuality, innovation and consistency. The five years integrated seeks to develop young men and women, a delicately nurtured community of some of the sharpest minds from all across the country and builds them into effevtive lawyers for the future. Emboldened by the adage, "Nyaya, Nishta, Gyana", NLUJAA envisions to reach the zenith of all things silver in the linings of our legal fraternity and our three hundred and fifty member strong yet closely knit family promises to be the best of hosts and live upto the potential. The premier sports fest of the University, Abhiveera 2.0 is a reflection of our aims and our harmonious effort to bring a melting pot of sporting cultures from all across the world's largest democracy and let them flourish in a vivacious, spring- laden environment! aboutAssam A heady mix of serenity, and spontaneity, Assam hangs on to the rest of the India by a thin chicken neck the Siliguri Corridor. With tales of conquest, dominance, victory, and chivalry, Assam has a long history, from the Paleolithic period to colonial conquest, backed by the innumerable stranded ruins; reverent yet thought-provoking shrines; grass carpeted cemeteries, and incredible wildlife. When it comes to historical tours there are many places to explore in Assam but it's the temples that attract the maximum attention. Especially the famous ones like Kamakhya Temple, Navagraha Temple, Umananda Temple, and Basistha Ashram, each with a charm of its own, and grand epics that further add to the intrigue. Also, historical attractions like , Udharband, and bespoke the chapters of the past and have stood all the tests of time. The state owes a lot of its history to Ahom dynasty, the determined rulers who have ruled over the state between the 13th and the 18th century. Owing to them, Assam got Asia’s first amphitheatre, Rangghar in Sivasagar sharing space with various other archaeological sites like Da-Parbatia, Madan Kamdev, Agnigarh, Suryapahar, Deoparbat, Ambari excavations, and Moidams. The archaeological sites of Assam have a deep mythological connection too, which can be seen in the form of attractions in Tezpur, the City of Eternal Romance. In Assam, one can find a heady mix of nature, and history too in the form of , the best place to visit in Assam. One of the largest riverine islands in India, Majuli has a good number of Satras too, established by Sankardeva and Madhavdeb.

No wonder, there are fewer places in India that offers so much variety when it comes to historical attractions. However, rich in history and architecture, Assam is home to a host of heritage sites in the world. Nestled in the colossal mountains and deep valley of Himalaya, Assam is an unexplored treasure trove. It has many-worldly charms. And to know more about its natural beauty, from local secrets to hidden travel gems and its ever so delightful culture, a visit to the place is a must. North East has food culture as vibrant as its heritage and as beautiful as its people, The North Eastern region of India offers a gamut of with varied flavours. It represents an exotic blend of mouth-watering dishes with regional differences and foreign influence. The is more inclined towards Non-Vegetarian. The north eastern states have a distinct and different food habits from rest of India. Some dishes are bland while some are spicy. Different states of North-East India have their own food culture. It is the style of that is a confluence of cooking habits of the hills that favour fermentation and drying as forms of preservation and those from the plains that provide fresh and an abundance of fish and meat. Apong is a refreshing drink served in Arunachal, serving culinary delights on leaves is a tradition in Manipur. The traditional dish is 'Kabok' which is made with rice and vegetables. Fish, vegetables and bamboo shoots are the ingredients of a tasty dish called 'Iromba'. People of Meghalaya love to gorge on . 'Jadoh', a pork dish is their favourite. Sikkimese are also fond of rice. Momos and Thupkas are the most famous dishes of Sikkim. 'Tchang' is the locally made beer in Sikkim.

The Assamese cuisine is characterized by very little use of , little cooking over fire and strong flavours due mainly to the use of endemic exotic fruits and vegetables that are either fresh, dried or fermented. Fish is widely used, and birds like duck, etc. are very popular, which are often paired with a main or ingredient. A traditional in Assam begins with a khar, a class of dishes named after the main ingredient, and ends with a tenga, a sour dish. The food is usually served in bell metal utensils made by an indigenous community called Mariya. The belief is that when food and water is served in such utensils its good for health and boost up immunity. Tamul, or raw nut, and generally concludes the meal. Khar is a signature traditional dish, made by filtering water through the ashes of the sun-dried skin of a few varieties of banana. The masor tenga is a light and sour fish dish, another signature class of preparations. The souring ingredient could be mangosteen, lemon, etc., but the most popular is made with tomatoes and kokum. This is how the north eastern food differs from the rest of the country, come to Assam and experience the unique flavours of food of the North eastern part of this country! Experience Assamese Culture Talking about Assam, Assam became the settling ground for many civilisation who came here through different routes as it was connected by land to many states and country. There are major 18 tribes in Assam, both plains and hills. Some tribal groups are Boro, Dimasa, Chutia and many others. Some things which are famous in Assam include Gamucha, one of the most easily recognizable cultural symbols of the and is an integral part of almost all socio-religious ceremonies. It is considered as an honorary piece of cloth commonly used for felicitation. One of the most popular folk dance of Assam is . Bihu dances are performed by young boys and girls during the Bihu festivities which represent youthful passion and joy. Some major dancing styles in Assam are Ojapali, Devdasi, and Satriya.

The contingent is required to send a confirmation mail along with the contingent details (names of the students participating along with the sports/games interested in) and travel details in the form attached with the Official Invite to [email protected] on or before 11:59 PM of 15th February, 2020.

It is necessary for every participating Institution to mention the name of contingent leader (Captain in case of a team). Last date for the confirmation of participation for ‘Abhiveera’ is 15th February, 2020. The sports committee will send a confirmation mail for successful verification of all the details. EVENTS

Including Accommodation: The registration fees per person would be Rs. 2000 per head. The fee would include the charges for accommodation as well as meal for two times ( and dinner). It will also include the pro night’s entry.

Every participant must carry their College Institution/University Identity Card (Original Copy). In case where the ID cards are not available then an original Bonafide Certificate from the participant’s College/Institution/ University will be considered to be valid ID proof. abhiveera 2.0 payment details

The Participants are required to pay the registration fee by means of either DD/NEFT or Online. The interested candidates should contact the organizers for the payment details. The participation of the Individual / Contingent will be confirmed only up on the receipt of the concerned Registration Fee.

Accommodation to all the teams shall be provided from evening of 27th February 2020 to 2nd March 2020 (12PM), in case any of the teams wish to prolong their stay they may in form the same to the organizers beforehand, and a differential pricing would be applicable to them (for the days extended), over and above the a registration fee. The organizers may arrange the travel facility (pickup and drop) to contingents, as per their provided Travel Plan, in no case shall an individual member of the contingent be picked up from any of the arriving destinations, the arrangements shall apply to the entire contingent moving together.

Travel arrangements for ferrying teams, in between the venues and the accommodation shall be provided by the organizing committee. Teams will be provided with Breakfast and Dinner from 27th February to 2nd March 2020, however shall be arranged by the participants themselves, the Organizing Committee may only assist them in procuring lunch.
