Senior Bouquet Project The Language of Flowers

There's rosemary, that's for remembrance; pray, love, remember: and there is pansies. That’s for thoughts. There's fennel for you, and columbines: there's rue for you; and here's some for me: we may call it herb-grace o' Sundays: O you must wear your rue with a difference. There's a daisy: I would give you some violets, but they withered all when my father died: they say he made a good end,-- --, Act IV, Scene V,

Flowers allow us to express the depth of our emotion in a symbolic way- they are a language all in themselves. As you begin to complete your journey at Chandler High, you have the opportunity, through the language and symbolism of flowers, to thank those who have helped you along the way

Task: Create 4 different floral bouquets for 4 different people. These bouquets are for the people you want to thank for their positive contribution to your life. You know, the people who have influenced you in some way along your journey- they made an impact in some significant way and/or they’ve contributed to who you’ve become. Choose from any of the teachers, coaches, counselors, administrators, mentors, club leaders, etc. you’ve had over the past 12 years (mentors/coaches outside the field of education are also acceptable, but ensure this person lies outside of your personal circle and has provided you with the knowledge of a particular skill set).

These bouquets can look any way you would like and you are not limited to a literal bouquet, and the only requirements are that you be creative and sincere. There must be at least 5 flowers in each bouquet and you are limited to using each flower a maximum of two times (i.e. you can only use a rose in two of your four bouquets). Each bouquet must be accompanied by a letter explaining the significance and an overarching reason you’re bestowing the gift, and each flower needs to be addressed individually and symbolically (I chose the ______because…).

Please do NOT create a bouquet for a friend, or a parent. We will have a special assignment for them in May.

Due Date: Letters due Friday April 7th. Projects themselves (along with the letters) will be due on Friday April 21.
