Butchers’ quality cattle and more commercial cattle are in strong demand. Top price per kilo was 221p for a Limousin x steer from Mr. A.M.C. Eddy of St. Erth purchased by Chris Dale of Dales Family Butchers of Helston with premium heifer from the same farm realising 208p/kg to Harvey Bros. Butchers of St. Ives, Penzance & Newlyn. Also at 208p/kg was a 695kg Limousin x steer realising £1,446 for Messrs. W.T. Bryant & Son of St. Martin with their heaviest 733kg steer reaching £1,466, both bought by Dales Family Butchers. A third Limousin x steer over £1,400 for Jonny Bryant at 724kg making £1,441, and top value heifer also from the same farm realising £1,285, these two both going to R.J. Symons of Ruan High Lanes averaged a good trade with their heaviest 777kg cow at 125p/kg making top money selling at £971 to Dawn West Devon of Hatherleigh. Premium went to a lighter Friesian at 135p/kg from Messrs. W.W. A bunch of mainly Aberdeen Angus x steers from Mrs. M.A. Semmens of Caerhays saw four around 21 months old at £1,010 plus a younger standout steer reaching £1,155. A lovely run of 35 Limousin and South Devon crosses from Messrs. T.F. & D.J. Crapp of Helston saw dearest five steers down to just 15 months old sell at £970 with a younger five around 9 months at £570. Young Limousin cattle from Mr. M.J.P. Williams of Manaccan saw dearest trio including one at 14 months old to £795. A big run of smart Hereford x yearlings for Mr.
