But sometimes you will need some imagination and all you talent. Do not forget that you can also go and read comic strips in our library's reading room of after your visit. These are the different areas that you will discover in the museum On the first floor, behind the reception desk, the visit starts with the Invention of Comic Strip where you will learn how Comic strip has appeared. From the first paintings in the caves during prehistory to the picture stories in the New York newspapers around 1900. © Further on you will get the to second exhibition called The Art of Comic Strip that proposes to explore the comic strip in all its forms, from the creative process to the range of genres that constitute the European comic strip today. At the other end of the first floor we show in the Gallery the original drawings of a new comic strip that has been recently published. On the second floor you will find the exhibition Horta and the Waucquez Warehouse about the magnificent building that houses the © Belgian Comic Strip Center and the architect who designed more than a century ago. Still on the second floor, starting from the right, the pioneers of the Belgian comic strip are gathered in the Museum of Imagination with the classics from the '20's till the 50's such as Tintin, the Smurfs, Lucky Luke, Spiky and Suzy ... Here we are entering in the imagination of these artists and their characters. Finally there are always new temporary exhibitions on the very last floors, the upper mezzanines and on the groundfloor. Further on © our visitors can spend time reading in the reading room of our library. The invention of Comic Strips 1. In this introduction to the museum you will find a few charachters from different periods of history. They are all exemples of the picture stories that were told with drawings during the previous centuries. The architect of the Waucquez Warehouse became really famous in Brussels. He also designed the plans of the Central Station and the Palace of Fine Arts (Bozar) in this city. You can see curves and waves everywhere in the details of this buidling. The use of glass, metal, wood and mosaic is also particular to this style and quite remarkable in the museum.
