Turkcell (TCELL.TI; Market Perform) announced that its extraordinary general meeting could not be held yesterday (October 20) as the govern- ment commissioners did not attend the meeting.

Turk Telekom (TTKOM.TI; Market Perform) disclosed a net profit of TRY 744mn in its 3Q10 financials, a growth of 36% YoY and 24% QoQ. The 2Q10 bottom-line is higher than both our in-house estimate of TRY 563mn and the consensus estimate of TRY 660mn. Turk Telekom’s 3Q10 net profit pulled up its 9M10 net income to TRY 1,892mn, which also increased by 38% YoY. Despite only 1.5% YoY growth in the-top line, strong net financial income propped up the company’s bottom-line compared to the net financial loss from the same period last year. Turk Tele- kom booked a top-line in line with our estimate of TRY 2,723mn at TRY 2,707mn in 3Q10 up by 1.5% QoQ from TRY 2,666mn in 2Q10. The figure also indicates a 1.5% YoY increase over 3Q09 revenues of TRY 2,668mn. With the inclusion of 3Q10, revenues for the first nine months of the year have come to TRY 7,957mn, up by 1.8% YoY from TRY 7,818 in 9M09.
