RAXTAR Vertical Access Next Level Vertical Access the next level Top of the line vertical access solutions Discover our latest innovations Size matters. The construction industry is changing. The market requires bigger, stronger, safer and faster means to optimize speed and efficiency during the building process. More and more prefabrication and modular ways of building are being used changing the requirement for logistics and vertical access. RAXTAR has a constant focus on developing innovative vertical access solutions that meet the ever- changing market requirements, while meeting the highest quality and safety standards. RAXTAR solutions now offer improved data gathering capabilities enabling modelling and analysis to improve the logistical processes on high-rise construction sites. RAXTAR offers top of the line vertical access solutions. We have contributed to over 2,500 projects worldwide. With our state of the art capabilities, we are predominantly active in the North American, European and Australian market. Hudson Yards in New York, 22 Bishopsgate in London, Parramatta Square in Sydney and Tour Alto in Paris are some examples around the globe where RAXTAR vertical access solutions made a difference to prestigious high-rise projects. RAXTAR RX2545MF-WIDE BODY The ultimate edge The RX2545MF-WB helps construction sites to cut down on tower crane usage. Materials and components that are normally being lifted into the building by the tower crane now can be transported with the hoist resulting in a faster and safer means of vertical transportation. Usually teamed up in a twin cabin set- up with an even faster personnel and goods hoist, the RX2545MF-WB offers a powerful combination of safer vertical access reducing crane time and shortening construction cycles. With a floor capacity of 11 m² / 118.4 sq. ft the RX2545MF-WB is the largest passenger & goods hoist available in the market on a single mast without a counterweight. The RX2545MF-WB is the solution of choice for voluminous loads such as complete bathroom pods & kitchen units, façade panels, but also for taking up heavy machinery and other large equipment. The RX2545MF-WB has a cabin width of 2.50 m / 8’ 23/8” and an internal length of 4.40 m / 14’ 5”. Hoist car internal dimensions (l x w x h): 4.40 x 2.50 x 2.60 | 14’ 5” x 8’ 23/8” x 8’ 6” Lifting speed: 54 m / min | 177 ft / min Payload: 2500 kg | 5500 lbs THE BEAST The largest hoist out there The way we build our buildings is changing. RAXTAR’s BEAST is a ground breaking innovation that provides contractors with new and unique abilities to lift larger volumes, with increased weight at high speeds for their super tall structures. The BEAST is unequalled in its kind to lift sizes of 6.12 x 2.50 x 3.35 m / 20’1” x 8’23/8” x 11’ with weights up to 5500 kg / 12,000 lbs at a lifting speed of 92 m/min / 300 fpm. RAXTAR’s BEAST is equipped with a patented double safety device system to ensure the utmost safety while transporting larger and heavier materials at higher speeds than ever before. Hoist car internal dimensions (l x w x h): 6.12 x 2.50 x 3.35 m | 20’ 1” x 8’ 23/8” x 10’ 7½” Lifting speed: 0 – 92 m / min | 0 – 300 ft / min Payload: 5500/ 4500 kg | 12000/ 10000 lbs RAXTAR RX4050DF Where power combines space The RX4050DF is the vertical access solution where volume prevails over speed. The RX4050DF is a twin mast frequency driven hoist designed for the transportation of large sized materials. It easily lifts prefabricated pods or curtain wall with a lifting speed of 42 m/min / 138 fpm. The RX4050DF has a payload capacity of 4000 kg / 8,800 lbs and clear inside dimensions 5.00 x 3.04 x 3.00 m / 16'47/8“ x 9'115/8'' x 9'101/8''. The combination of its lifting power with a maximum cargo space make this RAXTAR RX4050DF special in its kind. Other cabin sizes and payloads available are upon request. Hoist car internal dimensions (l x w x h): 5.00 x 3.04 x 3.00m | 16’47/8 x 9'115/8 x 9.101/8’ Lifting speed: 0 – 42 m/min | 0 – 138 ft/min Payload: 4000 kg | 8800 lbs RAXTAR RX3645SF The workhorse RAXTAR is one of the only hoist manu- facturers to have a noncounterweighted solution for higher weight capacities and speeds needed for today’s job- sites. The RAXTAR RX3645SF with a payload capacity of 3600 kg / 8,000 lbs and a travelling speed of 92 m/min / 300 fpm allows for quicker erection and dismantle while still accommodating higher capacity demands. This combination has helped leading hoist rental companies around the world to provide improved, more efficient solutions to their custo- mers’ ever-changing needs. Dr. Manja Stephan-Emmrich Tag der mündlichen Prüfung: 14.06.2016 Abstract: Kazakhstan, Astana, Migrants, Ethnography, City of the Future, Liminality The dissertation aims to answer the research question of what it means for various groups of individuals to live in Astana on a daily basis. As the new capital, Astana attracted a large number of internal migrants from various parts of Kazakhstan, who searched for better prospects and lives. Officially, the new capital is promoted by Kazakhstan’s government as “city of the future” and regards it as President Nazarbayev’s (1991-2019) most successful project. The dissertation offers an ethnographic contribution to urban experiences of migrants in Central Asia. The dissertation is divided into five main chapters. Chapter one offers an introduction to the theme and outlines major theoretical framework and the methodology on which the research is based. I apply the theory of the co-production of space (the social production and social construction of space) outlined by Setha Low to integrate the ‘spatial’ aspect as an integral part of my research. In addition, I employ the concept of liminality (Turner, 1967, Thomassen, 2014) as the central idea to analyze the stories of my informants.

CTBUH Year in Review: Tall Trends of 2020 Tall Buildings in 2020: COVID-19 Contributes To Dip in Year-On-Year Completions Abstract In 2020, the tall building industry constructed 106 buildings of 200 meters’ height or greater, a 20 percent decline from 2019, when 133 such buildings were completed.* The decline can be partly attributed to work stoppages and other impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. This report provides analysis and commentary on global and regional trends underway during an eventful year. Research Project Kindly Sponsored by: Note: Please refer to Tall Buildings in Numbers—The Global Tall Building Picture: Impact of 2020 in conjunction with this Schindler paper, pages 48–49. *The study sets a minimum threshold of 200 meters’ height because of the completeness of data available on buildings of that height. Weikal Submitted to the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, August 15, 2008, in Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Master of Science in Real Estate Development and the Degree of Master in City Planning ABSTRACT This thesis examines the recent worldwide boom in megacity development. Its basis is a global survey of megacity building that quantifies the amount of current development and qualifies the various city types and themes, the countries in which megacities are being built, and the firms that are building them. The key findings from the survey are summarized and analyzed, followed by a closer look at some of the leading city building firms and their role in the global megacity building industry.
