INITIATIVES TAKEN AND EXECUTED

AS PROCTOR:

 Introduced new formats of identity cards, character certificates & transfer certificates for the students of the campus.  Introduced new fee structure and application forms for the students for receiving identity cards, character certificates & transfer certificates.  Conducted two Students’Union Elections for two consecutive years 1999 and 2000.

AS DEAN STUDENTS’ WELFARE:

 Introduced new merit system of admission in the hostels for girls and boys.  Introduced new policy for the election of students’ union.  Reorganized the process of scholarships and fee concessions to the students.

 Successfully conducted the students’ union election successively for two consecutiveyears (2010 & 2011).  Successfully conducted all the University sports activities with the help of physical education department.  Successfully conducted all the cultural activities and functions proposed by the students.

AS DIRECTOR RESEARCH AND EXTENSION:

 Successfully conducted two entrance examinations of the University (2011- 2012).  Successfully conducted two Pre Ph.D. examinations of the University (2011- 2012).  Successfully admitted the eligible candidates for the pre Ph.D. course of the University.  Successfully evaluated the Ph.D. thesis of a large number of candidates as per ordinances of the University.  Successfully conducted the Ph.D. Counseling of students July- August 2012.  Successfully conducted all the Pre Ph. D courses of all the Faculties 2011-2012.  Successfully conducted two Research Advisory Committee (RAC) meetings 2011 and 2012.  Successfully arranged Research Degree Committee (RDC) meetings of all the candidates of all the Faculties.(2011 and 2012).

AS EXAMINATION COORDINATOR:

 Successfully conducted University examination of 25000regular and private students of the University within one month successively for 2 years including the timely declaration of results.  Developed new methods of distribution of answer books and evaluation in the University.  Made the evaluation system moreefficient.

AS COORDINATOR IGNOU:

 Well-coordinated and smooth admission of students at the D.S.B Campus Nainital Centre of IGNOU  Successfully conducted examinations of about students of IGNOU successively for 2 years.  Made the examination system efficient for timely declaration of results.

AS HEAD DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY:

 Established Research Laboratory on NANO SCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY, from this Laboratory the Department has filed TWO patents in 2016 for the first time ever.  Chemistry Department received a sum of Rupees 1.10 crore as grant from DST, Govt. of under FIST(2015)  Signed collaboration and MoU with Department of Chemistry, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA, USA,JubilantOrgano SysIndia,School of Biochemistry & Chemistry, Thapar University, Patiala (Punjab). School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, Energy Research Institute, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, VA 23005, USA,Department of Nano System Engineering, Konkuk University, Seol, South Korea

 Interdisciplinary research on herbal medicine and Cancer Biology has been initiated by signing MoU with following R&D Institutions  Jubilant Organo Sys  Defense Research Laboratory  Medical University, Uttarakhand  The researchers of Kumaun University could get the facilities of NMR, LC/MS, amino acid analyzer and other sophisticated instruments in these institutes and research labs of the industries involved in MoU.  Successfully conducted all the admissions and Chemistry Practical examinations of M.Sc. I,II,III&IV Semesters  Created space for Cancer Biology Laboratory (2014-15).  Created Space for establishing a new office of the Department (2014-15)  Procured the important documents of the office and destroyed all the irrelevant papers with the permission of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor. (2014-15) Successfully organized the visit of the Hon’ble members of the NAAC Team inNovember 2015.Kumaun University was awarded “A” grade by NAAC in 2016.
