In most conferences, the souvenir is just a vehicle to carry advertisements, but not so for the AOMSI conference souvenir. This is an important document which not only lists the scientific schedule but also includes the introduction of the faculty and abstracts of the keynote lectures as well as free papers. The members of AOMSI are in sync with the information age; and so this time we have done away with the print version and opted for the more convenient e-version. No need to carry the souvenir back in your luggage! E- souvenir is easy to download, and can be read at your convenience In this souvenir we have tried to capture the essence of the conference, and we hope you like it. I was fortunate to have a wonderful team working on this project. All credit for the good work goes to my team and if there are any errors, the responsibility is mine. I thank Dr Nimisha Desai, Organizing Chairperson and Dr Hiren Patel, Organizing Secy and the entire committee for entrusting me with this important work, and giving me a good team to work with, and a free hand in completing the work. A host of international and national faculty will whet the scientific appetite of the students and delegates. On behalf of Organising committee and Karnavati Knowledge Village, I welcome you all and wish this event enriches your minds and soul. Dr. Nimisha Desai, Organising Chairperson. 15 Scientific Committee Chairperson Dear, respected seniors and teachers, friends and colleagues, a warm welcome to 41st Annual National Conference AOMSI at Ahmedabad, Gujarat – The Land of Mahatma Gandhi. It’s indeed a great honour for me to extend a wholehearted welcome to all the delegates and the august faculties for the 41st Annual Conference of Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ahmedabad. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is an intriguing speciality and its field of work overlaps with quite a few specialities which is a big challenge in itself. By keeping the theme of the conference ‘EXPANDING HORIZONS’, we have tried to push our boundaries as far as possible by incorporating sessions related to advanced technologies and techniques. The scientific sessions include luminaries in the field, both national and international who will pass on not just their knowledge, but their unwinding enthusiasm as well. A host of new generation speakers would be seen during this conference and I am sure they will justify the trust that we have placed in them. The scientific program will have mix of lectures and debates with for and against reviews by various eminent speakers, hope you find the blend interesting and informative. Participation of the audience will go a long way in making these sessions highly interesting. A sincere request to one and all to be punctual as time management is the main pillar for any event to succeed. I extend my sincere thanks to all the members of organizing committee and national committee for their wholehearted support for the scientific proceedings. I am sure that you will enjoy this conference, and find it a stimulating and informative meeting. I take this opportunity to request you to actively participate to add to the richness of this conference and make it memorable event.
