The food emporium is like a bustling market, full of fresh ingredients and aromas to stimulate your senses. Help yourself to a wide selection from the antipasto table, then choose from light tapas dishes, fresh fish and 28 day aged Scotch Beef cooked in the charcoal oven, daily pizza specials and delicious homemade Italian desserts. The Strathearn is a grand dining room, where the glowing fire and sound of the tinkling piano set the scene for special occasions and family celebrations. Its strong reputation is built upon a classic menu and attentive service — tuck into a tender Scotch beef fillet, highland venison, or smoked salmon carved at your table.

Breakfast at the Strathearn is the perfect way to start the day at Gleneagles; the famous spread is temptingly indulgent. You can choose fresh, local, seasonal ber- ries, or go all out with pancakes, maple syrup and bacon. An evening at Andrew Fairlie’s Michelin-starred restaurant is the ultimate dining experience. The Salon has everything to prepare the ladies for a glamorous night ahead, including a selection of beauty treatments. And the gents can be treated too, with a traditional wet shave using Dovo razors and a blend of special oils, known only to the Gleneagles’ barber. The Club caters for everyone — you might prefer a physical work out in the gym, lengths of the 20 metre lap pool, or join one of the exercise classes in the studio. It’s hard to keep the children away from the spacious lagoon pool — they splash about for hours. The Equestrian School is one of the most impressive riding centres in Europe. From sitting on the saddle for the first time, to show jumping, dressage, carriage driving, and scenic trail rides — all ages and levels of experience are welcome. Even little children can learn the foundations of riding on one of our patient Shetland ponies.

Off road conditions are rough, rocky, wet and slippery. Change into first gear and you’re off. Test the Land Rover to its limits through water, up steep banks and over a variety of hazards on one of the purpose built courses. If you don’t have a full driving licence, our Argo Cats can be driven by anyone aged ten and over, and the mini land rover replicas can be enjoyed by children as young as three! The Shooting School at Gleneagles is world famous. Our instructors talk you through exactly what to do. When the sporting clay target is released, sight the marker down the barrel of the gun and line it up as it moves. Follow it along and then, when it’s perfectly aligned, aim just slightly in front and pull the trigger. Bang!

You can also test your aim and coordination practicing air rifle shooting and the traditional sport of archery on our purpose built ranges. These fun lessons are available for anyone aged eight and upwards.
