There Is Nowhere Quite Like Gleneagles®. Set in 850 Acres of Stunning Perthshire Countryside, the Gleneagles Hotel Is Scotland There is nowhere quite like Gleneagles®. Set in 850 acres of stunning Perthshire countryside, The Gleneagles Hotel is Scotland’s most glorious five star resort — its rich heritage makes it a playground for people dedicated to leisure and relaxation in the most spectacular surroundings. In less than an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow’s international airports, you will be sweeping up the drive past the manicured greens of the famous golf courses, up to the grand front door and into the hands of our welcoming staff, to begin a unique and special experience. Whether winding up or winding down, Gleneagles feels just right. It is as luxurious and comfortable as you would expect, with a refreshingly light manner. There are so many different ways to enjoy Gleneagles. Whether you’re planning to relax and dine in style, enjoy a few rounds of world class golf, indulge in spa treatments, or action packed country pursuits, the friendly, knowledgeable staff will bring all these experiences to life. On the other hand, you might be planning to do absolutely nothing — we’re experts at helping you achieve that too! The stunning Spirit Suites are situated on the top floor of the Hotel with elevated views over the estate. To make your stay even more special, each Spirit Suite evokes a chapter in the heritage of a premium spirit brand. The décor is understated, modern and glamorous — the ideal choice for a family holiday, a golfing weekend ‘with the boys’, or an indulgent spa break ‘with the girls’. Overlooking the Hotel’s main entrance, the magnificent 170 sq m Blue Tower Suite is split over two levels, boasting two luxurious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms situated on the lower floor and a custom designed spiral staircase winding up to a sophisticated living area in the original tower. Each of our unique Whisky Suites is perfect for relaxing and entertaining. With separate sitting rooms and dining areas, the Whisky Suites are ideal for a room service breakfast at your leisure, for private cocktails, or an intimate dinner in your sitting room. Warm and inviting, The Royal Lochnagar Suite provides everything a discerning guest could require for a wonderfully comfortable stay. For a special celebration, this suite offers the ultimate in traditional Gleneagles grandeur and the panoramic views over the Ochil Hills are breathtaking. The seven Estate Suites all feature separate living areas, king sized beds, soft contemporary fabrics and beautiful bathrooms. These suites are the ideal choice for couples looking to relax with that extra bit of space. In all of our bedrooms you will find crisp fresh sheets, soft plump pillows and spacious bathrooms. The temptation is to stay in bed all day! The Bar will be at the heart of any stay at Gleneagles. It’s a place to meet friends, to enjoy morning coffee and shortbread overlooking the gardens, to take afternoon tea with all the trimmings, or to soak up the atmosphere over a glass of vintage champagne. Let the bar staff lead you on a journey of discovery, sampling the delights of our rare Scottish malts. A lazy afternoon in front of the fire will blend into an unforgettable evening full of new flavours and tastes. Chefs at Deseo prepare the best recipes from throughout the Mediterranean. The atmosphere is lively and informal, which is perfect for a quick bite, or to relax with the whole family. Alternatively, tucked away are secluded tables for quiet evening meals after cocktails at the long bar. The food emporium is like a bustling market, full of fresh ingredients and aromas to stimulate your senses. Help yourself to a wide selection from the antipasto table, then choose from light tapas dishes, fresh fish and 28 day aged Scotch Beef cooked in the charcoal oven, daily pizza specials and delicious homemade Italian desserts. The Strathearn is a grand dining room, where the glowing fire and sound of the tinkling piano set the scene for special occasions and family celebrations. Its strong reputation is built upon a classic menu and attentive service — tuck into a tender Scotch beef fillet, highland venison, or smoked salmon carved at your table. Breakfast at the Strathearn is the perfect way to start the day at Gleneagles; the famous spread is temptingly indulgent. You can choose fresh, local, seasonal ber- ries, or go all out with pancakes, maple syrup and bacon. An evening at Andrew Fairlie’s Michelin-starred restaurant is the ultimate dining experience. The French cuisine has a delightful Scottish twist — close your eyes and savour every mouthful of Andrew’s famous whisky barrel smoked lobster. This is total sensory indulgence — a beautiful room, an intimate, unpretentious atmosphere and simple dishes brilliantly prepared. The new award-winning Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA is a sanctuary within the hotel. The design has an elegant simplicity — classic and unique to Gleneagles. Spacious tranquil areas allow you to rest your body and senses pre and post treatment. Arrive early to explore the different heat experience sensations — relax in the crystal steam room or hot sauna cabin and then cool down with a refreshing ice rub or an Arctic mist shower before visiting the soothing unisex vitality pool. With twenty treatment rooms and so many ESPA treatments to choose from, not forgetting our delicious range of superfood bento boxes and fresh fruit smoothies, you can be pampered all day. At The Salon and Barber Shop everyone is made to feel and look radiant and gorgeous. So when you eat at the Strathearn or Andrew Fairlie’s, all you have to worry about is which dessert to pick! The Salon has everything to prepare the ladies for a glamorous night ahead, including a selection of beauty treatments. And the gents can be treated too, with a traditional wet shave using Dovo razors and a blend of special oils, known only to the Gleneagles’ barber. The Club caters for everyone — you might prefer a physical work out in the gym, lengths of the 20 metre lap pool, or join one of the exercise classes in the studio. You can work on your serve and perfect your backhand with a tennis lesson from our professional coach or hire a mountain bike and head off on a trail. It’s hard to keep the children away from the spacious lagoon pool — they splash about for hours. Slip through the curtain into the bubbling hot pool outside to experience the warm water whilst breathing in the fresh Scottish air. The older kids have The Zone. It has a lively atmosphere where they can enjoy a game of pool, table football and karaoke duets on the Sony SingStar®. In fact, it’s so much fun that we are struggling to keep the parents out! The little ones are well looked after in the playroom. There is always an exciting activity planned — it might be a woodland walk to try and spot red squirrels and other local wildlife, or a puppet making session followed by a creative show. And, for those quieter times, we have a library of books, games and DVDs to inspire their imaginations. Gleneagles is an inspirational and pleasurable venue for business or special occasions. With the breathtaking Perthshire setting, exceptional facilities and your own dedicated event manager, your guests will be talking about it for years to come. Be it an informal meeting, a special birthday or wedding anniversary — or a gala occasion for several hundred — our rooms are as flexible as they are beautiful. And because we have 232 bedrooms and a varied selection of spaces for entertaining, Gleneagles is perfect for every event. Of course, Gleneagles is famous for its golf. With the springy moorland turf underfoot and the sweeping views from all around the tees, it is certainly one of the most beautiful and exhilarating places in the world to play. Each of the three championship courses has a unique character. The King’s Course has been testing the golfing aristocracy since 1919. Then there’s The Queen’s, with its lovely woodland setting, while the newest star is the PGA Centenary, host to the Ryder Cup in 2014. If you’re just starting out, the delightful, nine-hole, par three Wee course might be more your idea of fun. Or introduce the whole family to a game of pitch and putt! There can be no doubt that the better you play, the more enjoyable golf becomes. At the state of the art Golf Academy, our professional coaches improve the performance of enthusiastic beginners and advanced players alike. The latest computer software is used to analyse your game — starting with your grip, your posture, the rhythm of your swing and the consistency of your contact with the ball. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of help and guidance. And Gleneagles is the perfect place to atake advantage of any extra tips. The Dormy Clubhouse is our all important 19th hole, offering traditional, hearty fare — the perfect lunch to replenish your energy levels after a challenging morning round, or to prepare you for an afternoon tee off. Relax and enjoy the stunning views over the courses as you debate that superb chip to the 8th, or the finishing putt on the 18th. The wide range of experiences at Gleneagles is here to help broaden your horizons. Whether it’s learning a new skill or building upon existing expertise, our staff and facilities are second to none. The Equestrian School is one of the most impressive riding centres in Europe. From sitting on the saddle for the first time, to show jumping, dressage, carriage driving, and scenic trail rides — all ages and levels of experience are welcome.

  • Muthill in Bloom 2019
Prepared by Muthill In Bloom for Beautiful Scotland 2019 Designed by Muthill Primary School, Muthill Muthill In Bloom 2019 Prepared by Muthill In Bloom for Beautiful Scotland 2019 Introduction To Muthill In Bloom Muthill in Bloom was formed in 1993 by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers with Lily Crawford and Margaret Melville at its helm, and now, more than a quarter of a century later, their vision continues to thrive. The aim of the group to “improve the appearance of the village” has helped create an environmentally friendly place to stay and visit… a desirable place to live and work. The group has progressed from back garden displays to the creation of eye catching floral displays, never afraid to try something different or use a “crazy” colour scheme. Throughout the summer months village displays are a lot of colour all maintained and watered by a very dedicated team, ensuring everything is in tip top condition . Support for this work is essential and fortunately we work with 27 other partners in and around the village allowing us to do what we do. Fundraising events throughout the year include coffee mornings, bingo tea, plant sales and Christmas post delivery service. Teaching a younger generation has now become a priority and helping our local primary school is very important. Last year we planted a “young ones” orchard with the help of every child in the village school and nursery and we look forward to watching this project progress and grow. This year we hope to support the school in their bid to win a 6th green eco flag.
