Preamble
Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) holds a unique position as the largest diamond bourse in the world, with a membership of over 4,000 diamond merchants, engaged in import and export, manufacturing and marketing of rough and polished diamonds.
The BDB Team continually strives to provide an environment that enables its members to conduct their business with maximum convenience, comfort and security. This edition of Bourse Update aims to provide a snapshot of the various initiatives taken by BDB in the last one year upto April 2015.

Dear Members,
Bharat Diamond Bourse will be introducing new facilities for the benefit of the members and the Indian diamond industry at large. At the same time we are upgrading our infrastructure to provide excellent services to you, your employees and the business visitors.
This edition of the Bourse Update will give an overview of the milestones achieved and the initiatives taken by our BDB team.

SA Visa Assistance BDB along with GJEPC, MDMA and Members of the Bourse held a meeting with the Consulate General of the Republic of South Africa, Mumbai on 27 May 2014 to provide assistance in getting SA business visas for BDB Members.

Hon’ble Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State (Independent Rapaport on Industry Charge) for Commerce & Industries and Minister of State for Finance & Mr Martin Rapaport, Chairman of Corporate Affairs, Government of Rapaport Group gave a speech on India visited BDB on 6 October 2014 the 'State of the Diamond Industry’
India-US Business Relations
To strengthen trade relations with the United States, a meeting was organised with Mr. Charles Rivkin, Assistant Secretary, US Government on 15 Nov 2014
Seminar on Banking & Forex
BDB and DEAL in association with Almus Risk Consulting LLP organized a presentation to members on Banking and Forex on 11th April 2015 at the Trading Hall to discuss Law & Justice Minister visits BDB issues relating to Banking, Forex, On 8th October 2014 an interactive session with Hon’ble Shri. RJC AGM, Conference & Factory Visits to Surat and Mumbai SEEPZ
The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) held its AGM and Conference at BDB on 13 April 2015, giving attendees the opportunity to visit key diamond and jewellery manufacturing centres in Surat and SEEPZ in Mumbai. This was the first RJC AGM held outside Europe and marks a milestone in the organisation's continuing efforts to bring the message of responsible business practices to India - a global leader in diamond and jewellery manufacturing and sales.
The events highlighted how the Indian manufacturing sector has significantly benefited from an industry-led global compliance standard like the RJC to meet export market expectations as well as to retain skilled workers as a way of improving quality and productivity. The AGM and conference was co-hosted by BDB and GJEPC in association with Venus Jewel, Shree Ramakrishna Exports, Mohit Diamonds and Jasani Group – Elegant Collection.
