The Commission may consult the group on any matter relating to marine and fisheries biology, fishing gear technology, fisheries economics, fisheries governance, ecosystem effects of fisheries, aquaculture or similar disciplines. This report provides data and analysis applying the available DCF data up to 2015. In 2015 the fish processing sector in the EU comprised approximately 3,600 enterprises with fish processing as main activity, 2% more than in 2008. The number of workers employed in the European fish processing industry in 2015 was 124,242, a decrease of 2% compared to 2014. The trend shows a comparably stable situation since 2008. Similar to the total number of employees, the total number of FTEs decreased from 2014 to 2015 by also 2%. Despite the increase of production costs, the industry was still profitable, accounting for about €1.4 billion of profit and more than €6.1 billion of Gross Added Value (GVA). A special Health Council committee has spent the past year exam- ining the extent to which the existing logos promote healthier eating patterns. The findings of this committee, which I chaired, have been reviewed by two permanent committees of experts within our organisation: the Standing Committee on Nutrition and the Standing Committee on Public Health. It is my pleasure to present you with the resultant advisory report. I am today also forwarding the report to your colleague at the Ministry of Agricul- ture, Nature and Food Quality. The Committee believes that univocal nutritional advice is of utmost importance to the con- sumer. This consistency is currently lacking. In particular, the allocation of the Choices stamp and the Healthy Choice Clover are based on two different sets of criteria – neither of which is sufficiently attuned to the general public education on healthy eating. The Committee therefore makes concrete recommendations to improve the situation. It advocates a single logo, which should be granted according to criteria that are consistent with the nutritional advice issued by the Netherlands Nutrition Centre. The form of the logo on products that are healthiest in terms of their composition ought to differ from the form used on products whose composition is reasonably good.

This year they are taking the two McGiver great-grandchildren and their parents on an adventure to find Santa’s home, which happens to be located in Lapland, Finland. Page 3 Truman Brings a Historical Perspective Rovaniemi (ROH vuh nee yeh mee), partially located in the Arctic Circle, is the capital of Lapland and the 17th largest town in Finland. During December, Rovaniemi has an average high temperature of 20.5°F (–6.4°C) and an average low temperature of 9.5°F (–12.5°C). That kind of cold makes bundling up in lots of layers and staying indoors in front of a roaring fire seem like a really good idea.
