HBO FILM: “PHIL SPECTOR” TO PREMIERE ON APRIL 13
Miami, FL, April 25, 2013 – HBO Latin America will premiere the original drama from HBO Films, Phil Spector, on April 13th in the Caribbean. Starring Oscar® winners Al Pacino and Helen Mirren (also a Golden Globe® winner for her lead role in the HBO miniseries Elizabeth I), the film explores the client-attorney relationship between legendary music producer Phil Spector (Pacino) and defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden (Mirren), who represented Spector during his first trial for murder.
As the trial for the 2003 death of actress Lana Clarkson approaches, attorney Linda Kenney Baden (Mirren) agrees to join Spector’s defense team, headed by lead attorney Bruce Cutler (Jeffrey Tambor, Emmy® nominee).
After a first meeting, Linda finds herself intrigued by Spector despite his eccentricities and the challenges of the trial. She decides to continue working with the defense team and to take another look at the evidence and the circumstances surrounding the case. Having witnessed Phil’s tendency for erratic behavior, Linda and the rest of the team debate if putting him on the stand could do more harm than good.
