Household of Frederick Lewis, Prince of Wales 1729-1751 (omits officers of the Duchy of Cornwall) Frederick’s household was paid for out of the hereditary revenues of the Prince of Wales and an allowance of £24,000 per annum paid out of the Civil List. This was raised following his marriage to Princess Augusta in 1736 to £50,000 per annum, and then in 1742 to £100,000 per annum. He also borrowed extensively from private German sources.1 1. A. C.
