Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv Inkscape is a cross-platform, powerful enough and in many ways competitive free vector graphics editor with open source code, and in which the SVG format is used as the main standard for work. It is convenient for creating both artistic and technical illustrations. Inkscape is an analogue of such graphic editors as Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, Xara X and Freehand. Intended use: - illustrations for office circulars, presentations, creation of logos, business cards, posters; - technical illustrations (diagrams, graphics, etc.); - vector graphics for high-quality printing (with preliminary import of SVG into Scribus); - web graphics – from banners to site layouts, icons for applications and website buttons, - graphics for games. Empathy is often characterized as the ability to “put oneself into another’s shoes.” T elicits from Sts the reasons why it would be important for hotel workers to have empathy. Some examples might be as follows: 1. Listening empathetically makes people feel as if they are truly being heard and that their needs will be taken care of. 2. Listening with empathy gives guests a positive experience of the hotel and of you as a worker. BLENDER INSTRUCTIONS A SUMMARY Attention all Mac users The first step for all Mac users who don’t have a three button mouse and/or a thumb wheel on the mouse is: 1.! Go under Edit menu 2.! Choose Preferences 3.! Click the Input tab 4.! Make sure there is a tick in the check boxes for “Emulate 3 Button Mouse” and “Continuous Grab”. 5.! Click the “Save As Default” button. This will allow you to navigate 3D space and move objects with a trackpad or one-mouse button and the keyboard. Also, if you prefer (but not critical as you do have the View menu to perform the same functions), you can emulate the numpad (the extra numbers on the right of extended keyboard devices). It means the numbers across the top of the standard keyboard will function the same way as the numpad. 1.! Go under Edit menu 2.! Choose Preferences 3. Click the Input tab 4.! Make sure there is a tick in the check box for “Emulate Numpad”. 5.! Click the “Save As Default” button. This skill is necessary for using sophisticated statistical packages as well as for writing custom software for data analysis. Emacs Speaks Statistics (ESS) provides an intelligent and consistent interface between the user and software. ESS interfaces with SAS, S-PLUS, R, and other statistics packages under the Unix, Microsoft Windows, and Apple Mac operating systems. ESS extends the Emacs text editor and uses its many features to streamline the creation and use of statistical software. ESS understands the syntax for each data analysis language it works with and provides consistent display and editing features across packages. ESS assists in the interactive or batch execution by the statistics packages of statements written in their languages. Some statistics packages can be run as a subprocess of Emacs, allowing the user to work directly from the editor and thereby retain a consistent and constant look- and-feel. We discuss how ESS works and how it increases statistical programming efficiency.
