Something monumental is clearly happening right outside their door, but what exactly - an industrial accident, a terrorist attack, nuclear war? Descending into terrified arguments, they turn on the television, desperate for any information. On screen a message glows ominously: ‘Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions’. As the television exerts an ever more sinister grip, their paranoia escalates into bloody carnage. AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS 5 6 AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS Director’s Vision “Await Further Instructions” will hark back to the paranoid terror of low budget horror and Sci Fi films such as “Cube” and the “The Thing”, building upon the success of more recent breakout hits like “Right At Your Door”, “Rec” and the UK set “The Machine”. With “Further Instructions” I will turn on its head the familiar set-up of characters barricading themselves in a house against an external threat. In stead the “monster” itself has contrived the barricades, and is sealed within the house with the characters from which there is no escape.

  • Deconstructing the Lost Experience: In-Depth Analysis of an ARG |
Deconstructing The Lost Experience In-Depth Analysis of an ARG Ivan Askwith with Dr. Henry Jenkins and Dr. Joshua Green and Tim Crosby Deconstructing The Lost Experience: In-Depth Analysis Of An ARG | 2 Executive Summary This Is Not (Just) AnAdvertisement, a white paper produced for the Convergence Culture Consortium earlier this year, examined the evolution and significance of an emerging form of large-scale interactive campaigns referred to as alternate reality games, or ARGs. As that discussion noted, the term “ARG” is somewhat problematic, and functions less as a clear definition than as a working title for projects that tend to share certain characteristics. Campaigns are likely to be considered ARGs if they bear several of the following traits: - Interactive stories that unfold across media platforms and real-life spaces - Offer an interactive, dispersed narrative experience - Require participants to reconstruct elements of a fragmented narrative - Refuse to acknowledge themselves as games - Have no clear rules or guidelines for participants - Require participants to solve difficult challenges or puzzles to progress - Encourage or require the formation of collaborative player communitiesa While Not (Just) An Advertisement was written to provide a systematic overview tracing the evolution and possible applications of alternate reality games, this paper is intended to supplement that discussion with a detailed case study of a recent, high- profile ARG campaign called The Lost Experience, and in the process, to consider current challenges facing both content producers and corporate sponsors moving into the ARG space. Beginning with an in-depth discussion of the The Lost Experience’s framing, content, and public response, this paper assesses both the creative and strategic successes and failures of the campaign, considers the problems involved in integrating advertising content into an ARG’s narrative, and illustrates several current problems that designers and sponsors face in implementing ARG campaigns.

IRP Registration The Office of the Secretary of State strives to ensure that the International Registration Plan (IRP) operates effectively and efficiently for those who base their registrations in Illinois. One plate and one cab card is issued to each vehicle registered. Registration fees are then apportioned among the IRP member jurisdic- tions according to the percentage of total fleet distances generated in that jurisdiction. Many changes in requirements, methodologies, business operations, reporting procedures and other relat- ed issues are outlined in this updated IRP Applications and Instructions Manual. Applicants should use this manual as a guide to ensure that their applications are processed correctly and their registration require- ments are met.
