THE DEVELOPER

Imperial Market is being developed by the Texas Real Estate Fund, Inc. (TREF), a Houston-based real estate development company founded in 1987. Architectural design has been done by global leader HOK Architects. Engineering services are provided by market leaders LJA Engineering, Inc. and Jones Carter. The General Contractor is the renowned D.E. Harvey Builders.

TREF is co-owned by long time Houston real estate professionals Geoffrey Jones and James Murnane.

Geoffrey Jones

Geoffrey Jones has developed, owned, and invested in shopping centers, ofice buildings, and residential projects in the Houston metropolitan area since the 1980s. Jones was the original Co-General Partner/Developer of the $200 Mil Houston Pavilions mixed-use project in Houston’s CBD for which he received special recognition from Houston’s Eighteenth US Congressional District in 2006. The Houston Pavilions was the recipient of three Houston Business Journal Landmark Awards in 2006 and 2009. He is a two time alumnus of Gerald Hines Interests, and served as Senior Project Oficer for the $105 million rehab of Philadelphia’s historic 30th Street Station.

James Murnane

James Murnane is a career commercial real estate inance professional, having worked in a variety of executive banking positions around the world. Murnane was the long time CEO of commercial real estate inancier North Houston Bank (1996-2010), and was involved in the structure and management of commercial real estate project inancings of over $3 billion. He has strong expertise in all aspects of commercial real estate inancing and management, with particular emphasis on transactions involving historic preservation and renovation.
