$10 Per Ticket Here’s a great way to raise money for The Ohio State Alumni Association while supporting the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer! Sell $10 raffle tickets for a chance to win a cabin for TWO on the 2016 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. How does this work? Your goal is to give away a cruise for every 300 raffle tickets sold. When you sell 300 tickets, $1,700 goes to the Buckeye Cruise to pay for a cabin for two people, and your organization keeps $1,300. You also get to award the winner his/her cruise! In order for you to get your cruise certificate, you must turn in ALL stubs to Buckeye Cruise for Cancer. What happens if I don’t sell 300 tickets? For example, if you sell 200 tickets, $1,700 goes to the Buckeye Cruise and your organization keeps $300. You also get to award the winner his/her cruise! All non-sold tickets must be returned along with sold stubs What if we don’t sell at least 170 tickets, so that $1,700 goes back to the Buckeye Cruise? You can turn in the money and the ticket stubs sold to the Buckeye Cruise and we will combine them with other tickets sold. Each time we accumulate 300 tickets, we will draw a winner! All non-sold tickets must be returned along with sold stubs. $10 PER TICKET Winner receives an interior virtual balcony for two, including port charges and pre-paid gratuities, on the 2016 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer onboard Royal BUCKEYE CRUISE Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas out of FOR CANCER Ft. • Krenzel, Kern Help Local Charity by Eric Loughry
Krenzel, Kern Help Local Charity By Eric Loughry Early in his first day as a former Ohio State quarterback, Craig Krenzel met with the last OSU signal caller before him to lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. The morning following his last game in scarlet and gray — a 35-28 win over Kansas State in the 2004 Fiesta Bowl Jan. 4 — Krenzel had breakfast with Rex Kern, who was under center when OSU defeated Southern California in the 1969 Rose Bowl to claim the 1968 national title. More than three decades would pass before the 2002 OSU team, quarterbacked by Krenzel, would win the national title with a 31-24 double-overtime win over Miami (Fla.) in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Krenzel and Kern have been linked ever since. Kern even found his way down to the postgame interview area following OSU’s national championship win to congratulate Krenzel, who like Kern before him was the MVP of the bowl game that decided the national title. Krenzel was again the offensive MVP of the Fiesta Bowl his senior season. Hours later, he met with Kern, who had a proposition for him. Kern had an idea on how to utilize the connection between the two and showed Krenzel a print featuring both of them. The focal point is an image taken of the two together following the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Kern asked Krenzel if he would be interested in signing, along with Kern, each limited-edition print titled “The Quarterbacks,” with an allottment of the proceeds benefiting the Miracle for Madison and Friends Fund.

Connecticut Law Review. 38. https://opencommons.uconn.edu/law_review/38 CONNECTICUT LAW REVIEW VOLUME 41 JULY 2009 NUMBER 5 Note FOURTH AND SHORT ON EQUALITY: THE DISPARATE IMPACT OF THE NFL’S USE OF THE WONDERLIC INTELLIGENCE TEST AND THE CASE FOR A FOOTBALL-SPECIFIC TEST CHRISTOPHER HATCH Prior to being selected in the NFL draft, a player must undergo a series of physical and mental evaluations, including the Wonderlic Intelligence Test. The twelve-minute test, which measures “cognitive ability,” has been shown to have a disparate impact on minorities in various employment situations. This Note contends that the NFL’s use of the Wonderlic also has a disparate impact because of its effect on a player’s draft status and ultimately his salary. The test cannot be justified by business necessity because there is no correlation between a player’s Wonderlic score and their on-field performance. As such, this Note calls for the creation of a football-specific intelligence test that would be less likely to have a disparate impact than the Wonderlic, while also being sufficiently job-related and more reliable in predicting a player’s success.
