Mmffim Ffiffiffi@ OSU SARASOTA-MANATEE ALUMNI CLUB SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY All proceeds from the annual golf outing go into the Sarasota-Manatee Alumni Club's scholarship fund to assist local students who attend The Ohio State University. SARASOTA-MANATEE ALUMNI CIUB There are two scholarship opportunities for students in the area. The first is an endowed scholarship through our Club's contributions to the OSU President's Club, and the second is a scholarship to any qualifying, incoming freshman from the area, FOURTEENTH ANNUAL GOLF OUTING Over the past twelve years, over $84,000 has been raised from our golf outings, and we have assisted more than 35 students from our area. Scholarships have ranged from $500 to $2600 over the past five years. Members of our Club attend three major College Nights in Sarasota (2) and Manatee Counties. Materials from The Ohio State University are shared with potential students and their families, and questions are answered regarding size, costs, activities, etc. suPPoRT oun 2015-16 L0CAr.     Krenzel, Kern Help Local Charity By Eric Loughry Early in his first day as a former Ohio State quarterback, Craig Krenzel met with the last OSU signal caller before him to lead the Buckeyes to a national championship. The morning following his last game in scarlet and gray — a 35-28 win over Kansas State in the 2004 Fiesta Bowl Jan. 4 — Krenzel had breakfast with Rex Kern, who was under center when OSU defeated Southern California in the 1969 Rose Bowl to claim the 1968 national title. More than three decades would pass before the 2002 OSU team, quarterbacked by Krenzel, would win the national title with a 31-24 double-overtime win over Miami (Fla.) in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Krenzel and Kern have been linked ever since. Kern even found his way down to the postgame interview area following OSU’s national championship win to congratulate Krenzel, who like Kern before him was the MVP of the bowl game that decided the national title. Krenzel was again the offensive MVP of the Fiesta Bowl his senior season. Hours later, he met with Kern, who had a proposition for him. Kern had an idea on how to utilize the connection between the two and showed Krenzel a print featuring both of them. The focal point is an image taken of the two together following the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Kern asked Krenzel if he would be interested in signing, along with Kern, each limited-edition print titled “The Quarterbacks,” with an allottment of the proceeds benefiting the Miracle for Madison and Friends Fund.

The twelve-minute test, which measures “cognitive ability,” has been shown to have a disparate impact on minorities in various employment situations. This Note contends that the NFL’s use of the Wonderlic also has a disparate impact because of its effect on a player’s draft status and ultimately his salary. The test cannot be justified by business necessity because there is no correlation between a player’s Wonderlic score and their on-field performance. As such, this Note calls for the creation of a football-specific intelligence test that would be less likely to have a disparate impact than the Wonderlic, while also being sufficiently job-related and more reliable in predicting a player’s success.
