QUE DES ÉVÉNEMENTS ÉCORESPONSABLES AU PALAIS DES CONGRÈS DE MONTRÉAL [ Contact Home page ]

This spring, the Palais released its 2011-2013 Sustainability Action Plan, in keeping with the process it began in 2000. This spells good news for organizers and promoters looking to incorporate sustainability into their planning, as the new plan includes a green event program.

From now on, simply hosting an event at the Palais constitutes a green act, since any event space rented comes with basic services such as recycling and composting. Optional packages make it possible to gradually add green options based on organizers' needs and budgets. Organizers can count on the constant availability and support of the Palais' advisors in this regard and every other step of the event planning and hosting process.

The Plan also showcases many of the Palais' tangible sustainability- related achievements, such as improving the venue's energy efficiency, greening the roofs, and establishing new partnerships to diversify the measures implemented. To this end, the project Culti-Vert, which consists of the redevelopment of a section of the convention centre rooftop into green roof subdivisions featuring container vegetable gardening and climbing plants, had an interesting press coverage, namely in the Metro newspaper.
