Grounds open at 5.30pm on Friday, June 7th, 2013. The theme of the Weipa Fishing Classic is FAMILY, FISHING and FUN, encouraging family participation and attendance. CATCH AND WEIGH - OPEN There are 11 eligible species for the senior competition: King Salmon, Fingermark, Tusker, Grunter, Queenfish, Mackerel, Trevally, Coral Trout, Reef Fish (Red Emperor & Nannygai), Jew Fish and Barramundi only. CATCH AND RELEASE BILLFISH - OPEN Must have a digital camera with the time and date and be able to produce photos with the fish at the side of the boat with the capture card visible in the photo. Billfish are counted as one point per fish. This is a two day event and highest total score for the two days will be the winner. In the event of a tie, the angler that reached the highest score first wins. All fish must be released in the best possible condition. Under no circumstances will any billfish be weighed. You will be automatically disqualified. Photos must be presented by the finish of weigh-in on Sunday. Capture cards will be available after the reading of the rules on Friday night. CATCH AND WEIGH - JUNIOR Six eligible species for Juniors (12 years and under) competition: King Salmon, Blue Salmon, Bream, Queenfish, Grunter and Barramundi. Junior ticket holders can only compete in the junior section. Competitor 12 years old and under CAN purchase an open ticket & compete in either open or junior category - but NOT both. FISHING TIMES Commence Friday, 7th June, 2013 at 12 midnight (2400 hours) following the briefing, reading of the rules and entertainment. 2013 COMPETITION RULES CONT.

VENUE The 2013 Weipa Fishing Classic will be held at the Western Cape College Grounds. The Committee seeks co-operation from all competitors and attendees to respect the College grounds, buildings and facilities at all times. WEIGH IN Commences on Saturday, 8th June, 2013 and Sunday 9th June, 2013 starting at 4.30pm and finishes at approx 5.30pm. Competitors must be in the queue for weigh-in no later than 5.30pm on either day to be eligible for the individual species prizes, and overall species prizes. In the event of a tie the first weighed or sighted by the Weigh Master will be deemed the winner. You MUST present your competition number (KEY RING) when weighing in your fish. No other species other than the specified target species will be weighed. FISHING GROUNDS Include all the waters within and offshore waters adjacent of Albatross Bay and Port Musgrave. ALCOHOL Patrons are advised that if alcohol is consumed at the venue, it must be done so responsibly. Bar facilities will operate during these times at the discretion of the Weipa Fishing Classic Event Management, who also have the right to refuse service of alcohol and remove people form the event. It is illegal to bring alcohol onto the grounds, and patrons should be advised that police and security will be present throughout the entire weekend. 2013 COMPETITION RULES CONT.

VENUE OPENING AND CLOSING TIMES The venue will be open at the following times: Friday, 7th June, 2013 from 5.30pm to midnight Saturday, 8th June, 2013 from 4.00pm to midnight Sunday, 9th June, 2013 from 4.00pm to midnight MAJOR PRIZE DRAWS The competition is limited to 2,200 competitors. The final major prize draw will comprise of 30 lucky competitors who have been drawn out over the weekend. Ten competitor’s numbers will be drawn on Friday night between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. A further 15 competitors will be drawn between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday night. The final five competitor’s numbers will be drawn between 6.30pm and 7.00pm Sunday. At the competitor draws, the competitor or a proxy (holding the competitor’s ticket) must be present at each draw. The competitors or a proxy will be given two minutes for major prize draws to present to the stage with their ticket. If not in attendance further number/s will be drawn prior to the major draw to complete the 30 places. A full list of the 30 major draw prizes will be made available at the official opening on Friday night. RANDOM DRAWS Random draws for daily prizes will take place throughout each night’s activities; the competitor and their ticket must be in attendance to claim the prize. Competitors will be given one minute for random prize draw to present to the stage with their ticket. No proxies for daily random prizes will be accepted. 2013 COMPETITION RULES CONT. PHOTOS Photos taken during the Weipa Fishing Classic are copyright, the property of the Weipa Fishing Classic and are entitled to be used in the promotion of this event. If a person has concerns with having their photo used for this purpose, please advise our official photographer when the picture is being taken and it will not be used in further publication. FISH GENERAL Fish presented to the scales must be: • Caught in the waters & offshore waters stated • Must be gutted and gilled • Be in good condition • Taken on a rod and reel or hand line • Must conform to the competitions specified sizes to be eligible for weight-in • Under no circumstance will Billfish be weighed, and if brought in, competitors will be disqualified. Fish may be iced down after being caught, but not frozen. Alcohol management plans exist for the Mapoon and Napranum communities. Please ensure you are familiar with the alcohol restrictions which apply. ALCOHOL RESTRICTIONS Restrictions on the type and quantity of liquor that can be brought into various remote Indigenous communities are being gradually implemented in Queensland. Alcohol Management Plans are developed by Community Justice Groups and contain recommendations for declaring all or part of a community area, a restricted area and/or a dry place. To download legislation documents, brochures and forms relating to Liquor Licensing go to the ’s Liquor Licencing Division website at www.liquor.qld.gov.au/our products/brochures. ALCOHOL LICENCING INFORMATION • U18’s will only be permitted inside the licenced area is they are under the direct supervision of a parent or an adult with parental rights and responsibilities. U18’s are not permitted to consume alcohol anywhere on the Western Cape College grounds. • BYO alcohol is not permitted. Security will be on duty throughout the weekend. Bags and eskies may be searched. • Alcohol cannot be consumed outside of the licenced area, which will be clearly identified with barricade and signage. • No eskies are permitted on the grounds (with the exception of being used to weigh in fish during the weigh-in times) • Smoking is permitted on the ground but not under covered areas or near food stalls. Please dispose of your butts in a bin and be mindful of non-smokers in your area. • The committee asks for your co-operation in regards to these points, and following Liquor licencing Laws, to allow us to provide a safe, fun and friendly environment for all. The WFC Committee, together with the WCC endorse the responsible consumption of alcohol during this event. STALLHOLDER INFO
