2016 Sloan Summit ‘The new norm’

Welcome to this year’s Sloan Summit! The Sloan Class of 2015 welcomes you to the 2016 Sloan Summit. The vision for the Summit started in 2014 to realise the potential of the strong bond that exists between Sloans. Sloans are united in a lifelong desire to learn, to understand new ideas and to share knowledge. What makes us unique is that each one of us decided that we wanted something more than the success we had already achieved and put our careers on hold to add to our skills, capabilities and networks. Today is an opportunity for the Sloan community to continue that quest with a day of insights, networking and discussion, and to contribute to building a stronger and better connected network. Today is more than a reunion. The Summit is an opportunity to create a powerful platform to continue the journey which each of us embarked upon. This is the first time Sloans from the three business schools have come together. There will be stimulating debate and new relationships will be established. This is an opportunity to develop and strengthen the Sloan brand so that it represents much more than a 12-month programme of study, and to use the Summit to create a community of leaders who learn, share knowledge, challenge and support each other. In so doing, the strength of the community will enhance the recognition and reputation of the Sloan brand, for the benefit of all of us. The theme for this year’s Summit is ‘the new norm’. With the business landscape and thinking evolving constantly, it is time to debate what this new norm might be. We are excited to have such a fantastic line-up of speakers joining us to share their insights. Enjoy the Summit!

Partners

Gold Baume & Mercier Founded in 1830 in Geneva Switzerland, Maison d’Horologie Baume & Mercier have gained a reputation of superior craftsmanship which can only be associated with being the seventh oldest Swiss watchmaking brand. Baume & Mercier, part of the Richemont Group, maintains 186 years of watchmaking excellence using a simple and consistent motto devised by its founders: “Accept only perfection, only manufacture watches of the highest quality”. Baume & Mercier is currently the London Business School Student Association Celebratory Partner, helping the graduating class commemorate their journey and accomplishments while at London Business School. As a Gold Partner for the 2016 Sloan Summit, Baume & Mercier are offering a 10% (£200 maximum value) discount on all Baume & Mercier products until the end of September 2016 at two of their stores: • Watches of Switzerland, 155 Regent Street, London • Goldsmiths, 413 Oxford Street, London This offer is open to all those attending the Sloan Summit that register with them during the conference.

Helen Stokes Intern Scholarship Sadly, Helen Stokes SLN2012, MD of Major Players, recently passed away in March this year. She was a true inspiration to everyone who knew her. And an incredible role model. As one of the leading UK women in business, she would have wanted to help more young talent on to the first rung of their career ladders. In partnership with Creative Equals, a not-for-profit organisation working to change the ratio of adland's creative departments and D&AD, the awards organisation celebrating the best in creativity, Major Players has set up the Helen Stokes Intern Scholarship in her name. Baume & Mercier have kindly donated a classic watch from their collection to be auctioned off and the proceeds to be donated to the Helen Stokes Intern Scholarship. The highest bidder will be able to choose either the men’s Clifton 10052 or the women’s Promesse 10158. Both watches are classical Baume & Mercier and retail in the order of £2,000 each.
