The Council operates three Recycling Centres at Carryduff, 8 Comber Road BT8 8AN, The Cutts, Derriaghy BT17 9HN and Drumlough, Dromara Road, Hillsborough BT26 6QA. Each centre can accept the following materials: Batteries Food & drink cans Oil (Carryduff & Drumlough only) Plastic bottles Timber Cardboard Garden waste Paint (Donate for reuse) Re-use/donation (The Cutts only) TVs & computer monitors Domestic Fridges & freezers Gas bottles Paper Rubble Textiles (Carryduff & Electrical goods Glass bottles & jars Plasterboard The Cutts only) Scrap metals Tyres (Carryduff & Drumlough only) Fluorescent tubes Mobile phones Visitors are asked to segregate their materials before visiting the centre and placing them in the appropriate recycling area. There are also disposal facilities for non-recyclable waste at each centre.
