We kindly ask you to read carefully the following information. This document will provide you with important details about your travel and stay in during Terra Madre. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

1. The opening ceremony of the Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre 2012 will be held in the Palasport Olimpico, also known as Palaisozaki (Corso Sebastopoli 123, Turin). 2. HOW TO GET HERE

2.1 Lingotto Exhibition Centre and Oval Turin has three main railway stations:

From Porta Nuova to Lingotto Fiere it takes 20 minutes with the bus numbers 1, 18 or 35 or 10 minutes with the subway (6 stops, line 1, direction Lingotto).

From to Lingotto Fiere it takes 20 minutes with the subway (9 stops, line 1, direction Lingotto).

From the Lingotto station you can walk to the Fiere using the Olympic walkway. Follow the signs.

From Piazza Castello (city center) - you can get to Lingotto Fiere taking the B Line - Unexpected Torino- of the tourist bus City Sightseeing (stop B Line n.5 or at the same stop of the public transport lines 1-18-35 available during the fair).

By car or on foot: - Via Nizza, 230 (Cinema Pathé / Eataly); - the underpass to Corso ; - the Lingotto underpass (from Corso Unità d'Italia or Via Ventimiglia to Corso Giambone). The following are the GPS coordinates: +45° 1' 44.93", +7° 39' 57.67"

You can also reach the entrance of the OVAL Lingotto on foot through the Salone del Gusto pavilions, PROVIDED that you have the Salone del Gusto entrance ticket and during the opening hours of the event.

2.2 - PALASPORT OLIMPICO (PALAISOZAKI)

By train, bus or metro:

From Porta Nuova to Palaisozaki it takes 15’ with bus number 4 (stop 274 – Sebastopoli)

From Porta Susa you can reach the Palaisozaki with bus number (stop 388 – Sebastopoli)

From Lingotto you can reach the Palaisozaki with bus number 63 (stop 512 – Unione Sovietica)

3. PROGRAM:

Wednesday, 24/10: 9 am/4 pm: Arrival and registration at the Oval 6.30 pm/10 pm: Opening ceremony at the Palasport Olimpico (also known as Palaisozaki). Starting from early afternoon, there will be buses taking you to the Palaisozaki. After the opening ceremony, there will not be buses taking you back to the Oval. If your accommodation has been organised by Slow Food, there will be buses taking to your accommodation.

4. ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION Upon your arrival, you should go to the registration desks to receive your entrance pass to Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre.

On October 24 the registration desks will be located in the Oval and there will be signs indicating their location. Please look for the registration desk of your country, regardless of which "category" you belong to (producers, cooks, students, academics, observers, guests, musicians, volunteers, press). The delegates who will not be able to register on October 24 will be able to pick up the passes on October 25 in the following times: 8am - 10 am: the registration desks will be located in the Oval 11am – 11pm: the registration desks will be outside the Oval, next to the ticket booth in front of the entrance. Important: Please do not forget or lose your pass as you will not be allowed to enter Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre and the opening ceremony without it.

If you arrive by air: If you have sent us your flight details, you have already been scheduled for transfers from the airport to Turin (if you are arriving on October 24), or to your accommodation (if you arrive on October 23). If your flight is due to arrive after 2pm (in Milano Malpensa and Milano Linate) and after 3pm (in Torino Caselle), you will be taken to the Palaisozaki and will register the following day at the Oval. Upon your arrival, please look for the Terra Madre signs as you exit the baggage claim area to go to the bus pickup.

If you arrive by train, by bus or on foot: If you are arriving by train, by bus or on foot, you will be responsible for making your own arrangements for transportation to the Oval. You can reach the Oval for the registration no later than 4 PM on the October 24th. Starting from early afternoon, there will be buses taking you to the Palaisozaki for the opening ceremony.

N.B After the opening ceremony, there will not be buses taking you back to the Oval. If your accommodation has been organised by Slow Food, there will be buses taking to your accommodation. The timetables will be shown at the Info Point in the foyer of the Palaisozaki.

If you arrive by car: If you arrive by car, you can reach the Oval for the registration no later than 4 PM on the October 24th. If your accommodation was arranged by us, you will be provided with the directions to reach your hotel with your car.

Luggage storage: there will be luggage storage rooms at your disposal at the Palaisozaki and at the 3

Oval.

N.B On October 24, after the registration, please remember to take your luggage from the luggage storage at the Oval, take it with you on the bus and at the Palaisozaki (where you will find another luggage storage room). Do not forget it on the buses.

5. DAILY BUS: After the opening ceremony, if your accommodation was arranged by us, please head to the external parking place of the Palaisozaki. Please read the name of your accommodation and look for that name on the buses. The volunteers will accompany you to the right bus. Please follow them and the signs with the name and number of your bus. The buses will be identified with a number and the name of the hotel or the town where you will be accommodated. Please make sure you get on the right bus, the bus showing the name of your accommodation (as printed on your pass). For any problems or doubts, do not hesitate to ask the volunteers (wearing a red vest) or the Staff.

Starting from October 25, if your accommodation was arranged by us, please head to the external parking place in the back of the Oval (behind the canteen). The volunteers will accompany you to the right bus. The buses will be identified with a number and the name of the hotel or the town where you will be accommodated.

For delegates accommodated in homestays, the buses will leave at 6.30 pm in the evenings in the external parking place in the back of the Oval. The delegates accommodated in hotels will leave at 11.30pm and the buses will be parked in the parking place in the back of the Oval.

To make the logistics work in the best possible way, do not hesitate to ask the volunteers or staff for information.

6. ACCOMMODATION AND MEALS: For the duration of Terra Madre, you will be provided with three meals per day:

Breakfast – at the housing Lunch – at Terra Madre Canteen Dinner – at the housing or at the Terra Madre Canteen

If you wish to make your own arrangement for meals, you may do so at your own expense.

The Terra Madre canteen will be open from October 24 lunchtime. After the opening ceremony, the delegates will be provided with a box lunch for the dinner.

7. TRANSFER FOR DEPARTURE: If you have sent us your flight details, you have already been scheduled for a transfer to the airport. If you are entitled to a transfer, you will find this information on your personal information sheet that you will receive at the registration desk. Please make sure you don’t miss your transfer to the airport.

If your flight leaves very early in the morning of the 30th, for logistics reasons, you might have to spend the night in a different hotel. If so, please, remember to bring your luggage with you to Terra Madre on the day of hotel change.

REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR LUGGAGE WITH YOU ON THE DAY OF YOUR DEPARTURE (either

from the hotel or form the host family).

FOR EXHIBITORS: You will be able to access the event venue for setting up the stand and delivering the products on October 24 (from 7am to 6pm) and on October 25 (from 8am to 10 am).

If you arrive by car, you can park your car in the temporary parking place in front of the Oval and you can go to the registration desks inside the Oval. If you are entitled for a parking permit, at the registration desk you will receive it together with a map that will help find the parking (called P SUD) and your place.

After the registration, you can access the venue and go to your stand (identified with a number). In case of any problem in your stand, we ask you to inform the Organization at the Exhibitors Desk, located in the Oval next to the registration desks.

FOR INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS DELEGATES: The opening ceremony of the International Congress will be held on October 27 at 2pm in the Auditorium G.Agnelli. If you are already in the Lingotto Exhibition Centre, you can get there from the entrance in Pavillion 5. If you are not in the Lingotto Exhibition Centre, you can enter the Auditorium G.Agnelli through the entrance in Via Nizza 280.

On October 28 and 29, the Congress will be held in the Sala Gialla, (Lingotto Exhibition Centre – access from the visitors’ gallery in Pavillion 3).

On October 27, the congress delegates are invited to a special dinner: a buffet with the products of the Italian tradition. You will experience the culinary traditions of the osterie, restaurateurs, winemakers and pastry chefs. The dinner will be at 8.30 pm in the Rampa Nord of the Lingotto. At the registration desk, you will receive an invitation for this dinner. The invitations will have different colors in accordance to the area and place where you should go for the dinner. After dinner, if your accommodation was organised by us, there will be buses that will take you to the hotels. Please make sure to get on the right bus, showing the name of your hotel.
