On 03 -I2.I7, upon reliable & sourceful information, Narcotic raid was conducted / by staff of Anjuna Police Station, between 16.25 hrs to 18.40 hrs ar near DMC college Bus Stop, Assagao, Bard ez Goa and during which accused Mr. Ashitosh s/o Sanjay Dhupdale rlo H No.403, behind District Hospital, Shetyewado, Peddem, Mapusa, Goa, was found having in illegal possession of Narcotic drug known as Charas of 13.5 grams worth Rs-. 14,0001- appxly and,7l grams of Narcotic d*g suspected to be Ganja, worth Rs. 70001- appxly, all MZRs 21,000/- approximately. Accused Mr. Ashitosh s/o Sanjay Dhupdall'has been arrested on 03 .12.2017 after observing Supreme Court g,ria.tin.r. 2. Aniuna PS Cr. No. 12712017 U/s 370 (A 2) r/w 34 IPC & Sec 4 and 5 of Jmmoral Traffic (Prevention) Act On 12.12.2017, upon reliable & sourceful information, raid was conducted by staff of Anjuna Police Station, between 15.30 hrs to 18.00 hrs, at near Nyex Club, Anjuna and taken into custody of accused Mr. Bilal s/o Jamal Shaikh, lEQ 2I yts r/o H No. 402, Gajanand Apis, Naleshwar Nagar, Nalaso para East, P.S. Tulinch, Mumbai Maharashtra,40l 20g at present atAnjuna ,Bardez Goa, who was caught red handed when came to deliver one victim girl to the prospective customer for prostitution activities and upon his disclosure rescued 02 victim girls from Chamunda Guest House, Chinwar, Anjuna, Bar dez Goa, rescued uest House, n.u, German Bakery, Anjuna Heritage Exotica, Viegas Vaddo, Arpora ) ed by the accused and his associate for the purp ctivities at various places in Goa. It is also revealed that accused persons were living on the .u-ings of the victims who were knowingly trafficked to engage them for sexual exploitation by way of prostitution. The 08 victims girls rescued are lodged in Apna Ghar Merces. 3. Aniuna Cr. No. 131/2017 U/s 370 (AX2) IpC & Sec 4 and 5 of On 23'12'2017, upon reliable & sourceful information, raid was conducted by staff of Anjuna Police Station, 14.45 hrs to 17.30 hrs at near Hotel Continental, Arpora and taken into custody of accused Mr. Kadar Nurul Ali, age 40yrs r/o c/o ArunKauthankar, I{ No. 969, MonteiroWaddo, Anjuna, Bardez Goa, who was caught red handed when came to deliver one victim girl to the prospective customer for prostitution activities and upon his disclosurJr.rru ed 12victim girls who were kept at behind calangute, {fc, Bard ez Goawhich were procured by the accused for the pu{pose of carrying out prostitution a :tivities at various places in Goa' It is also revealed that u"..rr-.d persons were living on the earnings of the victims who were knowingly trafficked to engage them for sexual exploitation by way of prostitution. Calangutg PS Cr.No.241l17 F/s ?Qft)(iiXA) of NDpS Act l9g5:- On 05 .12.17, upon reliable & sourceful information, Narcotic raid was conducted by staff of Calangute Police Station, between I7 .30 hrs to 20.15 hrs at behind Holy Cross Chapel, Aradi Candolim Bardez Goa and during which / accused 1. Ivk. Lanny Fialho r/o Aradi, Candolim Bardez Goa, 2. Mr. Susanta Kumar Sahoo, n/o Dakhinkul, Khadianga, Balichandrpur, Jajpur, Odisha & 3. Mr. Pravesh Bnamber Samal, nlo Patunian, Patunia, Balichandraur, Jajpur, Odisha were found illegally cultivating a cannabis plant in prop erry owned by accused No. 1 and further accused No. 2 andNo. 3 took care and gardened the said cannabis plant weighting 10.8 kilogram and worth Rs. 10,00,000 l- approx. which was seized under search and seizer panchan ama. Accused Mr. Susanta Kumar Sahoo & Mr. Pravesh Bnamber Samal were place under arrest on22.12.17. 5. Calaneute PS Cr.No. 264117 u/s 22(c) of NDpS Act 1985:- On 2I.I2.I7, upon reliable & sourceful information, Narcotic raid was conducted by staff of Calangute Police Station, between 02.15 hrs to 05.20 hrs at near Savitri general store, Annavaddo Candolim and during which accused Mr. Jerry Alex, Ivoirienne National, n/o Abidjan Ivory Coast, was found with an illegal possession of 0.440 grams of LSD paper w/Rs.240,0001- and 14.130 grams of MDMA w/RS.150000 l- al| WRs. 3,90,000/- approximately and the same was attached under search and seizer panchan ama from the possession of accused person. Accused has been arrested. 6. Calansute PS Cr.No.247ll7 u/s 370 . 370(3) r/w 34 IPC and 4.5,& 7 of ITP Act: On 16.12.2017 , upon reliable &. sourceful information, raid was conducted by staff of Calangute Police Station, between 12.35 hrs to 14.30 hours, near Bodkowod, Wadakade, Porbavaddo, Calangute-Goa and during the raid, two victim girls who arc nlo 6811,4., Alipore Road, Alipore Kolkata, West Bengal and Anchal-Runni Saidpur, village-Raepur, Raepur, Sitamarhi Bihar were rescued, who were procured by the accused persons namely ( 1) Firoj Khan s/o Khoorshid Khan, r/o 660-4/05, L. Hansabnai Cnawl, prem Nagar, Bandra Plot, Jogeshwari, East Mumbai and (2) Vijay s/o Madanlal NAohanpuria, R/o H.No.3 15, Mehendi Ka Bas, Park Okha Mohalla, Theatre Colony, Jaipur, Rajasthan, and the victim girls were brought by them near Bodkowod, Wodakade' Porbavaddo, Calangute-Goa on t*o separate scooters bearing registration No. GA-03-D-78 54 and GA-03-AB-9115 for supplying them to the prospective customers for the purpose of prostitution and accused p.rror. were found living on the earnings of prostitution in the vicinity of public place. Both accused persons are placed under arrest .Victims girls rlp1r.d are admitted to Protective Home. 7. Bichglim PS c. R. No. 145/17 u/s 3s6,379 rpc. On 04-12.2017, accused Mr. Nagesh s/o .Sina Reddy rlo Indiran agar Chimbel, Merces, Tiswadi Goa, was arrested and has recovered Gold Mangalsutra worth Rs. 1,00,000/- which / was snatched away by accused of Smt. Sankita w/o Santosh Govekar r/o Khorlim, Mapusa, on 04/1212017 while she was walking at Upper Harvale, Sankhali-Goa. 8. Pernem PS Cr. No. 182/2 017 u/s 20 ft) (ii of NDPS Act On 20.12.17, upon reliable & sourceful information, Narcotic raid was conducted by staff of Pernem Police Station, between 01.30 hrs to 03.45 hrs near Chill Out Bar & Restaurant, Agar-Korgao road, Arambol Pernem Goa, and during which accused Omkar Tejram, d1a 22 yrs, rlo Madhalaw ada, Arambol, pernem, n/o Kullu, Himachal Pradesh was found with an illegal possession of 2.700 Kgs of Charas WRs. 8,10,000/- approx. The said illegal a-gi was seized and attached under the panchanama. Accused Omkar Tejram, was arrested on 20.12.2017 at 05.15 hrs, after observing Supreme Court guidelines. 9. Pernem PS Cr. No. 17712017 uls22 of NDPS Act On 12.12.2017, upon reliable & sourceful information, Narcotic raid was conducted by staff of Pernem Police Station between 01.35 hrs to 03.30 hrs at H. No. 378, Madhlawada, Ararnbol, Pernem, and during which accused 1) IVIr. Sergius Victor Manka, and 2) Tvk.Steinmuller Sebastian, age 25 yrs both German Nationals at present r/o H. No. 378, Madhlaw ada,Arambol,-pernem, were found in illegal possession of illegal Narcotic Drugs suspected to be'64 grams of LSD liquid WRs' 64,00,0001-, approximately along with other articles *fri.n are attached under the panchanama. Accused 1) Ntr. Sergius Victor Mank and 2)lvk. Steinmuller Sebastian were arrested after observing supreme court guidelines. l0.Mapusa PS c.. No. 412lr7 ,r/s 307 ./w 34 rpc On 26.12.17, Sunita Narvekar rlo Clo Santosh Satardekar, H. No. 122, Nr.     Anjuna Beach, Goa The Beach at Anjuna is famous for its night parties and water sports A charming façade of the quaint blue sea on one side and picturesque palm trees on the other, shelters the sunset sands of Anjuna Beach. The powdered white sands lined with red laterite rocks give the beach its characteristic rocky formation. This formation, called the Ozran juts out into the Arabian Sea and is known as the Jewel of Anjuna. It lies between the Anjuna Beach and the Vagator Beach. For years, this formation has attracted the eyes of travelers and geologists alike. Anjuna, in spite of being just a seaside village continues to attract the attention of travelers even today, not just because of its elegant rock formation but also its history. The 1950s and 60s saw the liberating Hippie Movement that freed Western youngsters from the shackles of narrow capitalism and encouraged them to be one with nature and self. Anjuna was one of the key places where this movement gained prominence. History records that this village was first discovered by a group of these Hippie travelers that included Eight Finger Eddie, among others. Rave parties with trance music filled the serene beach air at night while days were spent tripping on drugs and alcohol. Other beaches of Goa soon followed suit. The times have since passed, but even now Anjuna is one of the most popular party spots in the world. Each year, foreigners from round the world come over to this small seaside village for its full moon parties. Trance music coupled with rave parties dominate the week of Christmas to New Year, beckoning the traveler to all sorts of forbidden pleasures.

    © Lonely Planet Publications 141 North Goa Packaged neatly between the Terekhol and Mandovi Rivers, North Goa encompasses most of what many folks come to Goa seeking: the relentless action of Calangute and Baga, the kooky hippie vibe of Arambol and Anjuna, the remnants of the trance-party scene at Vagator, the thick charas (cannabis or hashish) smoke at Chapora, the laid-back beach paradises of Aswem and Mandrem, the five-star havens at Candolim and Sinquerim, and the hideaway luxury boltholes interspersed neatly throughout, many in gorgeously atmospheric heritage homes. It was not, however, always this way. Until the 1960s Calangute, nowadays Goa’s most raucous package resort, was the watering hole of the Portuguese elite, who arrived in May for their annual mudança (movement), to ‘take the air’ along the sedate seaside promenade. Aside from Calangute, the northern coastal strip remained a simple string of fishing villages, bounded to the south by the Portuguese Fort Aguada, and to the north by Terekhol Fort. Towards the end of the ’60s came the heady hippie days of naked revellers, drugs and ‘flower NORTH GOA power’; next came the all-night trance parties of the ’80s and ’90s, and, simultaneously, the package-holiday hordes. Today, the key to enjoying North Goa lies in knowing exactly what you’re after. If you’re here for spiritually slanted tranquillity, don’t go to Baga on a Friday night, more Ibiza than Inner Peace. Similarly, if you’re here to live it up a little, don’t roll up at Mandrem, where the liveliest thing you’ll find is a high-energy ashtanga yoga session.
