University of Bristol Department of Earth Sciences, Bristol, UK MRes Dissertation: “Partial melting of hydrated MORB beneath subduction zones” with supervisors Professor Jon Blundy, Dr Susanne Skora—Fall 2011 -Fall 2012 • Experimental investigation into partial melting processes of pristine Mid-Ocean Ridge Basalt and typical altered oceanic crust using piston-cylinder for high pressures and temperatures. • Resulting samples analysed in SEM, microprobe (BEEST, University of Bristol) and ion microprobe (University of Edinburgh), producing partition coefficients to refine data from prior studies. • Research presented at AGU Annual Meeting, December 2012, published in JPet. Ridge’s NSF “The North American Glacial Varve Project”.
