    Gwladys Nocera, n°1 Européenne Coup de chapeau à Gwladys Nocera, qui vient de remporter le championnat Européen de golf devant la grande Helen Alfredsson, qui avait remporté le Masters d’Evian l’été dernier. Enfin, on ne dit pas comme ça, on dit qu’elle a remporté l’Ordre du Mérite Européen, qui se calcule aux gains remportés sur la saison. Elle est la première Française à être sacrée meilleure joueuse européenne depuis Marie- Laure de Lorenzi en 1988 et 1989. Mais plus que cela, c’est un véritable record que cette sympathique joueuse a établi, puisqu’elle a remporté 5 tournois cette saison (l’Omnium d’Ecosse, l’Omnium d’Eindhoven (Pays-Bas), le Masters de Norvège, le Masters de Göteborg (Suède) et le Ladies Masters de Madrid), et a même lors du tournoi de Göteborg, établi un nouveau record en finissant à 29 coups sous le par, effaçant le précédent record de – 25 coups qui appartenait à Mme Laura Davies. Certes, le suspense était inexistant puisque la seule joueuse en mesure de priver Gwladys Nocera du titre de meilleure golfeuse européenne de la saison, la Suédoise Helen Alfredsson, avait finalement décidé de renoncer au voyage à Dubai pour rester aux Etats-Unis et y disputer une exhibition en faveur d’une association caritative, mais pour profiter pleinement de son sacre, la Tricolore, âgée de 33 ans, devait attendre la fin officielle de la saison avec cet ultime tournoi, le Dubaï Ladies Masters, c’est chose faite ! 15e à neuf coups de l’Allemande Anja Monke, Gwladys Nocera clôt cette année 2008 à la première place de l’Ordre du Mérite européen, succédant au palmarès à la seule Française ayant réussi à finir au sommet de la hiérarchie continentale, en 1988 et 1989, Marie-Laure de Lorenzi.
