Solheim Cup, c’est parti La Solheim Cup 2019 se joue depuis ce matin jusqu’à dimanche sur le parcours de Gleneagles en Ecosse. Et il flotte un doux parfum de revanche sur cette édition. Comme en Ryder Cup chez les hommes, 12 américaines vont se mesurer à 12 européennes dans le même format (depuis 2002) : Trois jours en match-play. Les deux premiers jours, il y a quatre foursomes et quatre quatre-balles (un le matin et un l’après-midi). Le dimanche, toutes les joueuses de chaque équipe s’affrontent en matchs individuels. Histoire de la Solheim Cup Créée en 1990 par Karsten et Louise Solheim, créateur de la marque Ping. La première édition de la Solheim Cup a eu lieu en Floride au Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. Les Américaines avaient gagné 11,5 à 4,5. Elles totalisent actuellement dix victoires contre cinq pour l’Europe. Une Française dans l’équipe Cocorico ! Cette année est d’autant plus intéressante que nous avons une joueuse française dans l’équipe qui n’est autre que Céline Boutier. Après avoir réalisé une fantastique saison sur le LPGA, elle a été choisie par Catriona Matthew pour intégrer l’équipe. Céline Boutier devient la sixième joueuse française à prendre part à cette compétition.
