Except in the cases of use with the aim of research, teaching, or information specifically foreseen in the law, the use of images of works of Pablo Picasso is subject to the prior authorisation and payment of the fees to Successió Picasso, titleholder of the intellectual property rights. For this reason, prior to making use of them, the applicant must get in contact with the relevant entity of collective intellectual property rights in his/her country so as to obtain the authorisation and to pay the corresponding fees. In Spain, this entity is VEGAP (Núñez de Balboa, 25, 28001-Madrid, tel. 91 532 66 32 / Fax 91 531 53 98). For other countries, consult the website of Picasso Administration. The delivery of the images by the Museu Picasso does not free the applicant of these from carrying out the above-mentioned procedures when deemed necessary. In any form of reproduction, distribution or public communication of the authorised images, the name of the artist, the title, and the date of the work to be reproduced should be clearly indicated, and following this: Museu Picasso, Barcelona. In the photographic acknowledgements, it is necessary to state the source of the image in the following way: Museu Picasso, Barcelona. Name of photograph. With regard to the reproduction of images in which the works of Pablo Picasso do not appear, in any of the authorised forms of reproduction, distribution, or public communication, it is necessary to state the source in the following way: Museu Picasso, Barcelona. The images will be used for a unique use and for the aim stated on the application form.The obtaining of the corresponding authorisation will only benefit the applicant and the right will not be allowed to be passed on to a third party.
The use will be expressly prohibited of the images for other uses which are not those for which they have been requested; likewise, the use will be prohibited in another territorial area or for another aim which has not been requested. Each different use will require a new authorisation. The Museu Picasso does not grant exclusive authorisations or licences. The fact of obtaining an authorisation for the reproduction of images does not include the right to use the name and the identifying elements of the Museu Picasso. Under no circumstances is it possible to make it understood that the activity of the applicant has the support or the collaboration of the Museum. It is only possible to use the name of the Museum as a reference for the source of the images.
The Museu Picasso will be able to revoke this authorisation if the applicant does not fulfil any of the above-mentioned conditions in this document, and will also be able to exercise the right of undertaking legal action that it considers opportune against the people that do not fulfil these conditions.
The Museu Picasso would appreciate the delivery of a copy of the publication in which the image or images provided appear, or the communication regarding the website from which the diffusion will take place, soo as t incorporate this documentation and information in the Centre de Coneixement i Recerca of the Museu Picasso.
