In a statement QA said it wrote another page of history as its — and the world’s — first Airbus A350 XWB and its fourth A380 arrived in Doha simultaneously yesterday, allowing the airline to further capitalise on its rapid expansion plans. The delivery of the newest members of QA’s fleet of 146 air- craft are the first of 80 A350s and the fourth of 13 A380s on order and mark another major 2014 milestone for the five-star airline. The A350, for which QA is the global launch customer, is to commence service on the Doha– Frankfurt route in January 2015. The A350 XWB aircraft flew to Doha from France, following a handover ceremony and press conference, attended by QA Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, senior Airbus and Rolls Royce officials, and media repre- sentatives in Toulouse.
