 19th Annual Veterans Day Program: As is tradition we will begin at 11 a.m. with a mo- ment of silence at the Burbank Veterans’ Monument (State Road and Melvina) – the Reavis High School Band, and local dignitaries will join us in saluting our Veterans.  Board Room Dedication: The Board of Trustees invites you to join them as they dedi- cate the new Board Room in memory of the library’s former President – the late James V. Rokaitis – who served as a Trustee for twenty-four years. The Steve Cooper Orchestra will provide entertainment. Cake, coffee and punch will be served at this landmark occasion.

Local Author Visit with John McNally Tuesday, October 13th at 7.00 p.m.

John McNally will be reading from his new book, Lord of the Ralphs. The eighth grade holds promise for Hank Boyd until an oddball named Ralph decides they should be friends. Hank and Ralph, create mo- ments of outrageous transcendence in this comic novel about adolescence in the 1970s— a time, like today, when adults couldn't be trusted and just getting by was hard work.

Amid the clatter of Cheap Trick and Styx, CB radios and Creature Features, this novel belts out timeless truths about boyhood, friendship, and redemption. Lord of the Ralphs is a of the author's beloved novel for adults, The Book of Ralph, revised and expanded specifically for YA readers. John McNally is the author of three novels, two short story collections, and two books about writing.
