Date Opponent Series Notes The Minnesota Vikings travel to Tennessee to open the 2016 season, marking the 4th-straight year the Vikings open their sea- 9/11 at Tennessee 8-4-0 son on the road. In the 13th meeting between franchises, the Vikings look to capture their 4th win over the Titans franchise (1-3-0) in a series dating back to the club’s days as the Houston Oilers. Minnesota’s only road win of the series was a 26-16 win over the Tennessee Oilers on Dec. 26, 1998. The Titans are coached by , who was a TE for the Vikings from 1983-88. Looking to avenge their only NFC North loss of the 2015 season, the Vikings christen U.S. Bank Stadium as they play host 9/18 Green Bay 50-59-2 to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football for the team’s 2016 home opener. In Minnesota last season, the Packers (26-28-0) handed the Vikings a 30-13 loss as QB Teddy Bridgewater was sacked 6 times, but still managed to complete 25 of 37 passes for 296 yards and 1 TD. Minnesota makes its1st trip to Carolina since Oct. 30, 2011, a 24-21 Vikings win, marking Minnesota’s 1st road win at Carolina 9/25 at Carolina 7-5-0 in franchise history. The Vikings most recently defeated the reigning NFC Champions, 31-13 on a frigid day at TCF Bank Stadi- (1-2-0) um on Nov.30, 2014. In the 2014 matchup, the Vikings used two blocked punts returned for TDs to catapult them to the win.

For the 2nd-consecutive season the New York Giants travel to square off against the Minnesota Vikings, marking the 18th 10/3 NY Giants 15-12-0 meeting between the two teams with the Vikings owning a 15-12 overall advantage and a 7-5 record in games played in Min- (7-5-0) nesota. In the 2015 Week 16 matchup, the Vikings won in convincing fashion posting a 49-17 win on Sunday Night Football in the final regular season game played on the campus.

The Houston Texans travel north to face the Vikings in the 4th meeting between the franchises. Minnesota holds a 3-0 record 10/9 Houston 3-0-0 against the Texans and won the only contest between the two teams in Minnesota by a score of 28-21, on Nov. 2, 2008. In (1-0-0) 2012 the Vikings defeated the Texans 23-6 in Week 16 in Houston.

The play host to the Minnesota Vikings for the 1st time since the 2010 season, a 24-14 Viking win in the 10/23 at Philadelphia 13-12-0 NFL’s 1st Tuesday night game since 1946, a postponement forced by a winter storm. In their most recent contest, the Vikings (6-8-0) downed the Eagles 48-30 in the final season at the H.H.H. Metrodome.

The Vikings look to post their 2nd-straight win at Soldier Field for the 1st time since the 1999-2000 seasons. Last season, the Vikings won in Chicago, 23-20, marking the 1st time since 2007 Minnesota won at Soldier Field. In the 2015 matchup at 10/31 at Chicago 57-51-2 Chicago, RB Adrian Peterson rushed for 103 yards and K Blair Walsh kicked a 36-yard FG as time expired to earn the Vikings (22-30-2) a 23-20 win, ending a 7-game skid at Solider Field. QB Teddy Bridgewater engineered two late scoring drives fueled by long completions to WRs Stefon Diggs and Charles Johnson to avoid OT and lift the Vikings to 5-2 on the season.

Minnesota hosts Detroit for the 55th time in franchise history. The Vikings improved their home record against the Lions to 11/6 Detroit 71-36-2 39-14-1 with a 26-16 win in Week 2 of the 2015 campaign. In RB Adrian Peterson’s 1st game in Minnesota in 658 days, the Pro (39-14-1) Bowler accounted for 192 total yards, including 134 yards rushing.

The Vikings will travel to the Nation’s Capital looking to capture the lead over the Washington Redskins in the series that 11/13 at Washington 12-12-0 stands at 12-12 overall and 6-6 both in Washington and Minnesota. The Vikings own a 2-game win streak over the Redskins, (6-6-0) with both wins taking place in Minnesota. The Vikings fell to the Redskins 38-26 in Washington during the 2012 campaign. The game marks the 6th time in 7 seasons for Minnesota to square off against Washington.

A season ago, Minnesota squared off against Arizona in aThursday Night Football, a game that ended with a 23-20 Cardinals 11/20 Arizona 15-11-0 win, the Vikings final loss of the 2015 regular season. QB Teddy Bridgewater threw for a career-high 336 yards and posted a (9-4-0) 108.0 , but the Vikings’ rally fell short in the desert.

Coming off a season sweep of the Lions during the 2015 campaign, the Vikings look improve on their 5-1 Thanksgiving record 11/24 at Detroit 71-36-2 as they head to Detroit. In last season’s Week 7 contest at Ford Field, Minnesota prevailed 28-19, as rookie WR Stefon Diggs (32-22-1) burst onto the scene. The rookie pass catcher hauled in six catches for 108 yards and a highlight-reel diving TD grab. In his 1st three NFL games, Diggs recorded 19 catches for 324 yards and one TD.

The Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings square off in the regular season for the first time since 2013, a 27-23 Cowboys win 12/1 Dallas 14-15-0 at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys lead the series 15-14 and have won 7 of 9 games played in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The last (7-9-0) game in Minnesota between the two teams was a 24-21 Viking win on Oct. 17, 2010.

Minnesota returns to Jacksonville for only the 2nd time in franchise history, looking to remain perfect against the Jaguars 12/11 at Jacksonville 4-1-0 in their stadium. In the last meeting between the two teams it took to decide the outcome. The Vikings won the (1-0-0) 2012 regular season opener 26-23 to start their 2012 playoff campaign against Minnesota native Gus Bradley, the Jaguars .

The Vikings look to snap a 4-game skid against the Indianapolis Colts dating back to Dec. 24, 2000, a 31-10 Colts win. In the 12/18 Indianapolis 7-16-1 most recent matchup, Minnesota fell to Indianapolis 23-20 in Indianapolis on Sept. 16, 2012. The Vikings hold a 7-5-1 record (7-5-1) at home against the Colts despite an 0-11 record on the road.

In the 2015 season finale at Lambeau Field, Minnesota won its 1st contest in Green Bay since 2009 in QB Brett Favre’s return 12/24 at Green Bay 50-59-2 to Lambeau. The Vikings 20-13 victory a season ago earned Minnesota the NFC North crown breaking a 4-year run by Green (24-31-2) Bay. The win also gave 2nd-year head coach his 1st playoff appearance as a head coach and was the 1st time since 2012 Minnesota earned a playoff berth.

In the 1st of three wins to end the 2015 campaign and capture the NFC North the Vikings downed the Bears 38-17 in the 1/1/17 Chicago 57-51-2 3rd meeting between the franchises at TCF Bank Stadium. The draft will conclude by approximately 5:30 PM CT on Saturday with the final four rounds. Rounds 4 through 7 took six hours and 26 minutes in 2015.
