COTAI, MACAU _____ Broadway Theatre is the premier live entertainment venue at SCOPE Galaxy Macau, a luxury destination resort located in the Cotai Acoustics Strip. The 3,000-seat theatre was an adaptive reuse of an existing space with approximately 18 months from design concept to Audio opening. The goal was to provide a venue for a variety of live Lighting events including concerts, shows, and conventions—including Theatre Planning Galaxy Macau’s China eSports in 2017. Theatrical Equipment Video Idibri’s task was to design a theatre that fit within the constraints of the existing structure yet provided an experience for both CLIENT artists and patrons that met Galaxy’s high standards. In order to Galaxy Entertainment Group accommodate the technical demands of large productions, a structural space frame was added over the stage that provides 70,000kg of rigging capacity. We provided acoustics, audio, video, lighting, and theatrical equipment design to support the theatre’s ability to be reconfigured based on the requirements of each event. We began our work on an impressive renovation with over Audio 18 different projects that were implemented on a 10-week Video construction timeline. This included the installation of a new center- hung video display, sound system and production upgrades. Idibri worked with the Epic and Lighting Theatrical Equipment Cuningham Group Architecture design teams to design a space that offers flexible presentation, audio/visual/lighting systems Video and an acoustical environment that supports effective communication to the audience. The centerpiece of the auditorium are the three LED Screens (Center: 68' x 40'; Sides Epic Systems 42' x 23') that allow audience members to stay engaged with the presenter and content. All of the AVL systems are integrated into Epic's IT network for control and monitoring.
