Parks and recreation crews from the Town of Wainwright recently ripped up the old surfacing on the Photo: Zak Rotary Splash Park on 8th Avenue in preparation for the Town’s Splash Park Flooring Upgrade Project, McLachlan CALL which will commence this spring. The old surfacing had begun to bubble up from the concrete, allowing water to get underneath. The Town has contracted McQueen Playground Installations to resurface the splash park to the tune of $27,893 plus GST. Funding for the project was taken from the 2019 budget, 780-842-8622 with costs offset by grant funding of $10,000 from the Community Social Responsibility Investment Pro- gram from Encompass Credit Union as well as $12,500 from the Alberta Tire Recycling Grant.
