We hope each of you finds an avenue to bring your leadership forward to leave an impactful legacy at EPHS. We believe that authentic student voice is key to our success as a school. So, we invite you to have a student voice leadership experience this year! Student voice opportunities may include attending meetings with staff members working on a specific topic, designing student surveys, being part of brainstorming sessions, and implementing changes. We want to hear about your ideas for what our partnership could look like. REGISTRATION IS FREE! Register at Virtual College Exploration • Representatives from all 5 United States Service Academies will be present at Service Academy Information Night. The event is Tuesday, October 5th 6:00-7:30pm at Providence Academy’s Performing Arts Center in Plymouth and is hosted by Congressman Dean Phillips. For information on how to receive a nomination to one of the Service Academies go to https://phillips.house.gov/service-academynominations • PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) will be administered to juniors and sophomores on Wednesday, October 13th. This exam will be held on a regular school day for EPHS in the main gym - students will miss the first, second, and some of third period. Registration for the test is online: please go to The Total Registration Website to register as soon as possible, but no later than October 6th. EPHS has ordered 450 PSAT exams; registration will close early if we reach this number. The cost of the test is $25.00. Any EPHS student, who is either a US citizen or a permanent resident of the US, and devotes a significant amount of time to community service may qualify for the Presidential award. The fall deadline to apply this year is Thursday, October 21st, 2021. There will be another opportunity to apply in spring for students who miss the fall deadline. However, EPHS Seniors, who wish to include this honor in their college applications must utilize the fall deadline. Currently, nearly 10,000 sophomores, representing high schools nationwide, attend HOBY Leadership Seminars each year. Participants will hear from the program director or faculty about the program and at the end of each session, questions will be taken. These are the experts and can answer questions you have! • For students who will be taking an upcoming SAT or ACT, here is an opportunity to take a free virtual practice test for one of these exams. StudyPoint is offering the practice test events, and since they do so virtually, you can take the practice test from your home. Anyone who participates will also receive a free score analysis that breaks down how you did by section, question type, and content area so you can get a sense for where you might want to do some review prior to the real thing.
