Trees are an important asset for ecological sustainability and biodiversity. Mangalore is perched strategically on the threshold of a “smart city”. This study gives an account of the green cover present in the city of Mangalore, highlighting the importance of green zones in major cities not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for benefits they provide to environment and human population.
