INTERCOM CAPABILITIES TSEC/KY-71A ABBREVIATED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS INTERCOM MODE #1 (Between Desk Sets) THE NOTE: THE FIRST HANDSET OFF-HOOK CONTROLS THE TERMINAL, ALLOWING ONLY ONE CALL AT A TIME (INCOMING OR OUTGOING.) 1. LIFT HANDSET Caller's EXTENSION No. lamp is steady "on". TSEC/KY-71A 2. DEPRESS HLD BUTTON Caller's EXTENSION No. & HLD lamps are steady "on. PROCEDURES INDICATORS AND COMMENTS SECURE TELEPHONE UNIT 3. ENTER REQUESTED Requested EXTENSION No. will ring and the lamp for EXTENSION NO.(S) that EXTENSION lamp will flash on all desk sets. INITIALLY CLEAR, THEN SECURE CALL 4. REQUESTED DESK SET Caller EXTENSION No. HLD & Requested Ext. No. 1. LIFT HANDSET EXTENSION No. lamp is steady "on". GOES OFF-HOOK lamps are ALL steady "on". 2. ENTERENTER CALLEDCALLED PARTY'SPARTY'S CLR & SEC lamps are alternately flashing. ABBREVIATED 5. DEPRESS HLD BUTTON Caller's EXTENSION No., HLD & requested Ext. No. INITIALLY SECURE CALL lamps are ALL steady "on". Converse with extension. 1. LIFT HANDSET EXTENSION No. lamp is steady "on". 5. MAKE PHONE CALL Caller and requested extensions hear remaining call set-up tones and ringing. 2. ENTER CALLED PARTY'S CLR and SEC lamps are alternately flashing. 5-DIGIT ID NUMBER INTERCOM MODE #3 (Adding Additional Desk Set(s) to an Established Call) 3. DEPRESS SEC BUTTON Dial tone present or; KY-71 is dialing the number stored in the Call Directory. If so proceed to Step 5. NOTE: INTERCOM MODE #3 CAN BE USED IN ALL CALL PROCEDURES: FOLLOW THE ABBREVIATED OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE DIAL CALLED PARTY'S Dialing sequence, secure mode signalling tones present. INTENDED CALL AND THEN PROCEED WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW. TELEPHONE NUMBER Process may take 10-40 seconds before the SEC lamp comes on indicating secure contact. 1. DEPRESS HLD BUTTON Lamp Indicators for either CLR or SEC will be steady "on" depending on intended call. 5. CONVERSE IN SEC MODE 2. ENTER REQUESTED Requested extensions will ring and the corresponding EXTENSION NO.(S) EXTENSION lamp will flash on all desk sets. CLEAR CALL (NO SECURE CALL INTENDED) ^t<U*^ 3. DEPRESS HLD BUTTON All desk sets involved in the intercom are now On-Line LIFT HANDSET EXTENSION No. lamp is steady "on' with the called party. 2 DEPRESS CLR BUTTON Dial tone present. 4. CONTINUE CONVERSATION DIAL CALLED PARTY'S Dialing tones present. Follow regular dialing procedures. NOTE: THE CONTROLLING DESK SET CAN EXCLUDE A DESK SET(s) AT ANY TELEPHONE NUMBER TIME DURING THE CALL BY DEPRESSING THE HLD BUTTON AND THE DESK SET(s) EXTENSION NUMBER, THEN DEPRESS HLD BUTTON TO RETURN THE CONVERSE IN CLR MODE Signalling tones returned when another KY-71 answers, CALL TO A TWO-PARTY CALL. otherwise no tones.
