Akagera National Park: The Place that I like most

A couple of months ago I went to the . It stands as the one and only Savannah park in Rwanda where one can visit for the exhilarating game drives cruising past the wildlife game throughout the park with a ranger guide on a guided tour. Akagera National Park is home to Rwanda’s big five mammals and several other wildlife species including the Rhinos, Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Zebras, Elephants, Kobs, antelopes, impalas, Hippos, and so much more which will give you the best photographic safari moments. It is located in the north-eastern part of Rwanda, next to the Tanzania-Rwanda border and a two hours drive from Kigali. It is one of the 3 great national parks of Rwanda besides , and Nyungwe National Park. Akagera National Park is one of the African parks founded in 1934 to protect animals and wildlife in Rwanda and is Africa’s largest protected wetland. Akagera National Park is mainly covered by swamps woodland, and low mountains with savannah vegetation. This large park covers a space of 1,122 square kilometres. It is divided into two sectors; northern sector and southern sector. The Akagera National Park is bordered by a 120km long electrified predator-proof perimeter wall. It really is a picturesque park surrounded by many trees and beautiful hotels. I went there with my family for a two days’ holiday.

DAY 1: TRANSFER FROM KIGALI TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK: The two-hour journey to Akagera National Park was along the road with mesmerizing beautiful landscape views of Rwanda’s beautiful nature and scenery. As we arrived at the park, we checked in for our safari accommodation at the lodge. We planned to stay in and then afterwards proceed for a short game drive. We had a delicious lunch prepared to the standard of our taste and later went for a boat ride on Lake Ihema hoping to see the aquatic mammals such as the Hippos and crocodiles as they go about in the lake or by the shores. I enjoyed my stay there very much, as I had not had a holiday for ages and needed to switch off from working. I spent a lot of time observing not only animals in the park but also different kinds of trees. I also enjoyed eating the delicious food, and walking around the surrounding buildings in the town of kayonza. DAY 2: SAFARI GAME DRIVE IN AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK: Our second and last day of the tour started very early in the morning with breakfast and right away we left with our packed lunch for safari game drive in the park. We expected to see the Lions, Rhinos, Elephants, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Kobs, Baboons, among others. Akagera National park is also a varied habitat for wildlife species in Rwanda and a birders’ haven with more than 500 bird species in the park.

One of the things I enjoyed the most was the park tour during which I saw a couple of lions which were together, it seemed as though they were in a meeting. I had never seen lions before, and I loved the collaboration of them. I would definitely like to go back to observe the way they live with one another.

After the game drive which took up to 6 hours, we had our picnic lunch and then exited the park through the northern gate to start the journey back to Kigali.

To put in nutshell, I encourage everyone who needs to observe the beauty of the world to come toRwanda to visit Akagera National Park, and I thank the government of Rwanda which throughRwanda Development Board and African Parks the sustains the park by improving law enforcement, investing in and stimulating local enterprise, and by optimising AkageraNational Park’s exceptional potential for conservation-based tourism.

The white color mist rapped all around the background of the hotel just like Santa Clause did raped all around the hotel from his beard. The bewitching and comfortable feeling came in to my mind like the mist came among the Trees, among the mountain and among the mountain range. The natural beauty of the environment treats my hectic and impassive mind which competitive and clamorous when I was at Colombo. So, what is this place? The Nuwara- Eliya has a historical value too. Many of the building such as Queen’s cottage, General’s house, , St. Andrew hotel and town post office were retained from colonial period. British Museum: The Place That I Like Most:

I love peace bringing works. So, from my early childhood, I started thinking that why people get involve into crime? The answer I got was something different than others. Everyone says that crime is something which is prohibited by states, but I found that when one create uncomfortable moment for others, then those others involve in crime. For this reason, crime has retrospective effect in law because when one take any harmful or morally wrong action to others rights, then state identify that and judiciary decide whether the alleged facts are really harmful or morally wrong for our society or not and finally, legislature passes law to solve the problem of our society, depending upon the judgement of the court who are expert in fact finding and application of law for proper guidance of the society. To know more on about source of crime, I visited Jarwa land or Stone-Age Civilisation for 8 times till today. From Jarwa administrative system, I found that Conflict is life and formation of life is a mistake. Hunting is a crime, but hunting is nature which increases crime. Jarwas do not had concept king or queen like Celts civilisation, but Great Andamanese taught us that we need king/queens to solve conflicts of our community which sometimes raise inequality, crime eventually. Still I was dissatisfied with my findings and I visited British Museum to know lot more about sources of crime and there I found the following features:

Firstly, at section Africa, I found that they had a peaceful social life, but powerful people were distinguished from the commons which increases discrimination and eventually crime. The Asante State Sword is an example of it that it was not known when sword were introduced in Africa.

Secondly from Americas I found examples of Trade, Innovation, Bloodletting Ritual along with distinction between powerful people and commons which creates inequality and the Mask of Nulthamalth is a great example of it because this mask is symbol of proud inheritance and powerful beings.

Thirdly, From the Ancient Egypt I found the examples of Science, trade, Politics, Colonialism. Ivory Label for King Dan’s Sandales denotes that one of the main duties of king was to defend & expand Egyptian frontiers.

Fourthly, from Asia and Middle-East section, I found much information about Migration, Politics & Diplomacy along with Power & Dominance. For example, the Black Obelisk of Shalmaneser-III speaks that Assyrian kings often collected rare animals & plants as an expression of their power & domination.

Fifthly, from the section of Ancient Rome and Greece I found many information about Individual Violence; Inequality; Democratic Government; Luxury that create inequality and economic crime; Violation of Gladiator power; Growth of Trade; legal Inscription; Compassion for Stressed Animal; Sign of Homosexuality. For example, Helmet of Murmillo denotes that although gladiators were sometimes slave or criminals, but many professionals were trained to be specific type of gladiators which was treated as a different level dignity in the society that raised inequality.

Finally, at Europe or more clearly at section Britain, I found my answer about how to remove crime by achieving inner peace. I found many information on Social Change through trade development; Recognition of Cognitive development in other countries which is a symbol of open mentality and about Restoration peace. For example, At ancient Rome and Greece, I found that women were not painted at paintings, but the Model of Mary-I was presented to Mary-I as member of imperial Hapsburg family & restorer of peace. So I discovered that people do crime either for biological violence or social culture or economic trouble. Crime is based on either power-based crime or victim-based crime or final victimisation crime. At classical period, people tried to measured crime by promulgating laws, depending upon philosophy which describes the morality mainly. Also they tried to measure crime through punishment like Deterrence and Retribution or different theories like Broken Window theory & Routine check-up theory or forming different statistics models including city circular model & so on, but most of the time these systems failed to remove crime completely. Positivism entered there to help people by writing down the natural laws through statute which can guide people. Also positivism is working actively through Reformation or Rehabilitation and Restitution or compensation through Psychological treatment or bringing changes at Social culture or Existentialism or trying to remove gender inequality by establishing Human Rights like theory of Feminism. International intergovernmental organisations are working to bring peace through controlling State-Based crime means Use of force, Economic development and recognising Sovereignty, Self-Determination, Human Rights. So, this is established that crime starts from basic uncomfortable moment from family level either through mal-childhood upbringing or biological violence. When that cross the border of family level that start spreading from society to region to national to international level. In my project, I discovered that by giving training on stress management or about how to turn conflict into collaboration or knowledge on emotional Intelligence or how to recover from burnout, people can get inner peace which can enable them clam a lot more and lead them to think more productively. People are getting different rating at stress review chart than that they are getting at the first time before attending this training.
