Newark’s Halloween Parade

Newark's 68th annual Halloween parade took place on Sunday at 3 p.m. The parade marched down Main Street, starting at Main Street and Tyre Avenue and making its way to Main Street and College Avenue. The street was lined and crowded with kids in costume, patiently awaiting each passing float and parade participant. The parade featured local high school bands, vintage cars and Mayor Polly Sierer in costume as a parrot to lead the way.

FALL TEAMS STORM INTO CAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

sports commentary 2016 World Series: A breath of fresh air for the MLB CARMINE Ol PALMA Staff Reporter

The 2016 MLB World Series matchup is exactly what true fans need: a breath of fresh air. The true MLB fan is not as apparent as it used to be. The country' used to bleed America’s pastime, which has now taken a backseat to the NFL and even the NBA in some scenarios. However, if even for a brief moment, that will all change thanks to this year’s World Series matchup. What puts this fall classic above others is the astonishing record it holds -- 176 combined years since either team has won the championship. This ensures that either team that takes the coveted trophy back to their city will be rewarding a truly loyal fan base. It’s evident that the Cubs’ fan base has stuck by them for countless losing seasons always grasping onto the phrase, “next year.” They’ve waited 108 years in anticipation for another championship parade — by and far the most years without a championship in the history of MLB.
