    OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL STATEMENT ON PROPOSED USE OF SUPPORTED BUS SERVICES FUND (2020/21) The Government has provided Oxfordshire County Council with funds (£588,403) to improve supported bus services. On Thursday 12 March 2020, the Cabinet Member for Environment approved the Council’s Statement of Intent for the proposed use of the funds. All services in this list are expected to commence on Tuesday 1 September 2020. The Fund has been made available for one year only and services may be subject to withdrawal in August 2021 if further Government funds are not forthcoming. Under the terms of the funding, the Council is required to publish on its website the details of the improvements proposed. The below is subject to acceptable tender prices: Service 11: Watlington – Chalgrove – Stadhampton – Garsington – Cowley – Oxford (Thames Travel) Sunday service consisting of 4 journeys each way, equivalent to the current Saturday timetable. Service 20: Rose Hill – Cowley Three off-peak journeys in each direction, at approximately two-hourly intervals, on Mondays to Fridays. Service 40: Thame – Chinnor – Stokenchurch – High Wycombe (Carousel Buses) Sunday service introduced, operating at an hourly frequency. Service 45: Abingdon – Culham Science Centre – Clifton Hampden – Burcot – Berinsfield – Oxford Science Park – Sandford – Littlemore – Cowley New Monday to Friday peak-hour journeys between Cowley, Berinsfield and Abingdon; also a two-hourly off-peak service on the same route. Peak hour journeys serve Oxford Science Park. A long-term partnership between Oxfordshire County Council and Cherwell District Council officially launched on Monday 1 October 2018, as Yvonne Rees started her new role as chief executive of Oxfordshire County Council, alongside her existing role as Chief Exec of Cherwell District. Over time other services are expected to join up where there are benefits to residents, including improving efficiency and customer service.     Longworth Village Meeting MINUTES of VILLAGE MEETING. Held at Longworth Village Hall at 8pm on 16rd February 2016 A large number of villagers attended the meeting. Michael Pearce (MP) opened the meeting by providing an update, from his perspective, of the current position on the proposed Longworth Reservoir as follows. He did though provide a caveat that his assessment may not be wholly accurate, but was nevertheless his understanding and although he encouraged questions from the floor after the update that he might not be able to answer all the queries accurately. During the final stages of the Consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan a letter from Thames Water was received and the following final paragraphs were read out Proposed Reservoir Safeguarding It should be recognised that the proposed Neighbourhood Planning Area includes the area proposed to be safeguarded for a new reservoir as submitted to the Vale of White Horse Part One: Strategic Sites and Policies (please refer to enclosed plans). Policy 14 of the Vale of White Horse Local Plan Part One: Strategic Sites and Policies, November 2014, sets out that land is safeguarded for a reservoir and ancillary works between the settlements of East Hanney, Drayton and Steventon and that development that might prejudice the implementation of the Upper Thames Reservoir will be refused. Thames Water have supported Policy 14 in principle, but also promoted the safeguarding of the alternative Longworth Reservoir site to the north of the village of Longworth. I will contact you in due course to see if you would like to meet to discuss the safeguarding of the Longworth Reservoir site in the Vale of White Horse Local Plan.

    Introduction Vale of White Horse District Council is currently preparing a new Local Plan, jointly with South Oxfordshire District Council. Supporting this process, Vale of White District Council held a ‘Call for sites’ consultation in April to May 2020. Please be aware the Call for Sites is purely a data gathering exercise. It allows landowners, agents, developers, community groups and others who are interested in having land considered for a range of different uses to submit site information to the council that they would like to be assessed. Sites submitted for consideration have been set out in this register. The site register and maps are published for information and have no status in planning. The Call for Sites does not grant planning permission to any sites submitted or confirm that the sites are suitable for development. The sites submitted in the 2020 Call for Sites are one source of information that the council will use to consider which sites might be suitable for allocation through the Local Plan. Other potential sites and sources also need to be considered, including those sites submitted previously to the Local Plan 2031 Part 1 and Part 2. The documents and appendices (which list the sites) can be found on the Local Plan Part 1 and Local Plan Part 2 webpages. The planning merits of the sites will be considered using the criteria and method consistent with relevant government guidance, the outcome of which will be published in a Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA). The HELAA is in preparation and will be published alongside future local plan consultations.

Michelle Anderson, Julia Brocklesby, David Clark, Kathy Davies, Robert Eyles, Christine Gowing, Katherine Owen, Amy Ridding, Donna Thynne, Jenny Vince, Nick Wright and Hamed Yeganeh were able to spend about a day there on 1 February 2020. The objectives of the survey were to understand the dates and phases of the building. We made a visual inspection of the exterior and such internal spaces as were accessible. Photographs were taken of significant features. Unless indicated otherwise, text and images were created by members of the recording team. A limited number of historical sources were consulted. A photocopy of the 1 st edition (1876 survey) Ordnance Survey map at 1:2500 was obtained from the Westgate library in the 1990s.   • Hanney History Walk
    Hanney History Walk Hanney History Group invites you to take a “figure of eight” walk through West & East Hanney, with old photographs and notes on some of the buildings you will see on your way. Not every “historic” building is included, and even some of the “notes” could be wrong – but enjoy! The map above is from the first Ordnance Survey 1” map dated 1830 – not bad for nearly 200 years ago! So, starting at the War Memorial Hall, we take a walk along the Causeway to West Hanney Green. Our first picture of West Hanney is looking back to the Green, in the centre of which is the Buttercross. But if you had been here in the late C19 you wouldn’t have seen it, as it had been demolished and the stones dis- tributed around West Hanney. It wasn’t until the early C20 when, organised by Mr Emmott Large, of Pound Croft in East Hanney, the stones were recovered and the cross rebuilt. The picture shows the “dedication ceremony” in March 1908, led by the Bishop of Oxford. The Olde Forge can be seen in the background – we’ll visit this on our way back. Looking up, we see the “Way to the Church between Raised Causeways” as described in an edition of Country Life from January 1943 (costing One Shilling and Six Pence). But keen observers will see that this view of the Church shows the original castellated tower. This fell into disrepair and the top 6ft was demolished in 1939, with many of the stones still visible in some West Hanney gardens.
