On the Route des Grandes Alpes heading south, curve after curve follows. Up to the absolute, for once very low lying highlight - the Grand Canyon du Verdon. Around it, lonely little streets and narrow paths lead into the least once in his life. magnificent landscapes of Haute Provence. There, one is Stage for the day: about 270 km almost alone, while at the beaches of the Côte d'Azur, less than a hundred kilometres further on, the tourist masses Day 3: Through the Drôme to the Grand Canyon du Verdon crowd in the sand. South of the Vercors is the department of Drôme. After the spectacular views of the Vercors, perhaps a little quieter, From picturesque valleys cut deep into the rock, the route but no less beautiful - and no less curvy. Around noon we climbs uphill in all imaginable curve combinations. Col de la cross the border to Haute Provence at Sisteron - and it lives Colombière, Col de la Madeleine, Col du Galibier, Col up to its name. The vegetation becomes more southern, the d'Izoard and all the many other mountain passes with their air warmer. And the roads? Stay as curvy as they have been melodious names leave you with a feeling of all day. Stage for the day: about 240 km no wishes unfulfilled, since they belong to the most spectacular representatives of their kind. And one of the Day 4: finest asphalt bands that the Alps have to offer. This Tour around the Grand Canyon du Verdon promises great enjoyment in the truest sense of the word. Today is dedicated to the Grand Canyon du Verdon. One of the largest canyons in Europe - and certainly one of the -tour itinerary: most famous. 21km long and up to 700m deep, the Verdon Day 1: Day tour through the northern western Alps has carved its bed into the mountains of Haute Provence. From the start hotel we first pass the heavy traffic. The In the morning we will have a look around the spectacular many small and smallest passes of the mountains south of panoramic road on the 'north shore' of the canyon: Please Lake Geneva are simply too tempting. At noon and in the take enough time and a big memory card for the camera - afternoon we enjoy the magnificent views over the Lac you will need both! Later on a side trip to the reservoir at d'Annecy and a little later over Aix-les-Bains, before the the western end - don't forget your swimming gear! Chartreuse with its unique wooded passes welcomes us at Afterwards maybe the little town of Mustiers or a small (or the end of the day. even big) tour through the heavenly smelling lavender Stage for the day: about 300 km fields? Or enjoy again the endless curves and views around the canyon? Everything is possible here! Day 2: Through the Vercors Stage for the day: about 100-200 km Unknown to us, Vercors is one of the most spectacular areas of the Alps. Deeply incised gorges, spectacular Day 5: The "Route des Grandes Alpes" passes, karst plateaus and in between, time and again, truly Today our tour turns unfortunately already back to the breathtaking views. To name but two: the Gorges de la north. But... What does "unfortunately" mean? Among other Bourne and the Combe Laval are certainly two of the routes things, the Gorges du Dalouis, the Col de la Cayolle, the Col that every Alpine road enthusiast should have enjoyed at de Vars, the Col d'Izoard and at the end of the day, the 28.09.2021 Western Alps - MOTOURISMO -- 1 legendary Col du Galibier are on today's itinerary. There is no one who is not full and satisfied with the views, curves and passes when he arrives at the hotel in Valloire in the evening to review this day of highlights (in the truest sense of the word). Stage for the day: about 290 km Day 6: The best at the end Our last day on this tour. And it follows on seamlessly from the previous ones. Col du Télégraphe, Col de la Madeleine, Col des Aravis and whatever they are called. Big names not only for the Tour de France fans. But also for all those who appreciate curves and views. In the evening, the start hotel south of Lake Geneva awaits us again, where we can recapitulate all the experiences of this great Tour. Stage for the day: about 300 km (program changes reserved) 28.09.2021 Western Alps - MOTOURISMO -- 2 Category Motorcycle Tour Terrain Onroad Vehicle your own motorcycle Tourguide / Coach yes (guided) Accommodation Hotel / B&B or similar Flight to / from no, not incl. Mountain experience is essential Climate: In the high mountains it is sometimes sensitively cool even in summer, in the Maritime Alps and Provence the climate is Mediterranean Special features: The coarse French asphalt gives the tyre a lot of wear. Therefore ensure sufficient tread depth Daily routine: Normally a day of travel begins at about 8.00 a.m. with breakfast. At about 9.00 o'clock, after the briefing from the tour guide, the next stage of the journey begins. Lunch and coffee breaks will of course not be missing. Until 18.00 o'clock we usually reach our hotel at the latest. If, exceptionally, it should be later than that, there is surely a good reason for it. In any case, we will always try to give you at least one hour from your arrival until dinner. The shelters: Usually they are 3-star hotels, but sometimes there can be 4 of them. But for this purpose, a small family hotel with a little less comfort is also sufficient for us. However, each accommodation is characterized either by its unmistakable location, history, cuisine or atmosphere. Of course all rooms are always equipped with a bathroom. Rations: Breakfast and dinner in the hotels are included in the price. Drinks, lunch and break snacks must be paid for by the participants themselves. Generally typical cuisine of the Alpine region. Additional costs: The beer can be partly relatively expensive in the French hotels. Otherwise the prices are similar to those in Germany. Insurance: Please carry your green insurance card with you on your journey. We especially recommend the travel cancellation insurance as well as a travel interruption insurance. 28.09.2021 Western Alps - MOTOURISMO -- 4.
